714banshee380
I was in glamis this past weekend and my shee started overheating due to how hot it is... The radiator startet smoking... I have already siezed it twice so i took it easy and cruised back to camp poured water all over the raidator/motor. I was just wondering if theres anyway i can make it run cooler? I have stock radiator, bored 2 sizes over stock, ported, polished, t5's, k&n air filters, stock carbs

yamaha04
pro design watter impeller.and cool head. you can try running engine ice. but it will do so much. if you have overheated it before then you might want to check out your stock impeller it might be melted. BigRed350x
Jetting is probably the cause. A properly jetted bike can run all day long in some really damn hot temps and have no problems. I have a buddy with a stock stroke cub who rides with me in temps over 100 degrees for hours on end with no issues. Easy way to solve your problem... convert to methanol. lol Check your jetting FIRST, then worry about the other parts...

yamaha04
engine ice is just a different kinda of coolent. iv heard it works well and says it drops temps 10* but you cant rely on it. if you have sezied it before and keep overheadting you have a problem. tell us your jetting in your carbs and every mod you have and your elevation. and we will get it jetted for ya. also you want a pro design impeller. they have a stainless steel shaft. they are expencive but are the best. dont buy the one sthat are all buillet

wacko2000
Im not trying to Jack any1 thread, but I would like to change my impeller also.. Where is it located, how can I change it and is it a pain in the ass?
yamaha04
drain your oil and coolent take the clutch cover off. then take that plastic cover off on the front of your clutch over then take the 4 or 5 screws out that hold the little brass colored plate off. then turn your clutch over over and push the gear down and take the dowl pin out of the impeller shaft then take the gear off and pull the impeller out. . check the seal. put the new impeller back and then the plastic gear back on the shaft and re instal the dowl pin. turn the gear and make sure it drops down or is already down on the shaft and down pin. then put all the covers back on and refuil liquids. very very easy
