rtcc
I have done a lot of searching but I can only find a few references to these reed cages. Who runs them and are they worth getting? I have heard good things about porting your stock cages and using their replacement reeds but I noticed on their site that they have a modified stock reed cage with reeds for 100 bucks. I know everyone like V forces but I cant afford new ones, but am still looking for some 2's at a reasonable price. Also, I mainly triail and mx ride not drag. thanks
yamaha04
just buy the reads and cut the center bar out of your stock cages. its easy as hell you can port the stock cages with a hand file in like 2 mins

I cant even find a picture of them. I guess thats what I needed to know. thanks

They are good. Im going back with em on my next build because they worked better than the dual stage boyeseens and vf2`s imo.

I saw a thread on here a while back about the vf3's actually loosing power in the top end on the dyno, I run boyesen pro's on ported stock cages and love them. Don't have personal experience with the TDR's, but LC performance builds some fast stuff and he swears by the TDR's in ported stock cages. He says they make better power than the vf's and are more reliable.

gumby6t9
Someone on this site has to have some info or a "how to" on porting stock cages... Come on! Post up the info!
bigboybanshee
I run the ported stock reed cages on my trail bike. I had the TDR reeds in there at first and the setup worked well, but I am now running the boyeson 2 stage reeds with the ported cages and it has a real nice snap to it. From a different standpoint (seat of the pants on my drag bike) comparing VF2's to the TDR ported cages and reeds...with the VF2's the bike did pull harder and revved quicker, the TDR cages and reeds weren't too far behind it though, I'd definitely recommend them for someone wanting to save a little money and is not out to get the absolute most HP they can. They are the best bang for the buck...unless you port your own cages and go buy some boyeson 2 stage reeds for 60 bucks. This is all just my opinion and experiences  I'm pulling my intakes off tonight or tomorrow and can take some pics of the cages if you guys want to see them (for porting)

rtcc
Yes I would love to see them. Which TDR reeds did you run the epoxy or the carbon? And are they a one piece reed? Thanks
kawiking
travis..what reeds do u run in the 4 mill cub ?
okbeast
I'm also very interested in seeing the ported cages as I don't have the $ for v-forces right now but am loking for a 'lil extra like everyone else. Would ported cages work ok with just stock reeds, or would i have to get some higher-end reeds to notice a difference?
csrmel
i dont know if the stock reeds would work with ported cages. the stock reeds are tiny and only overlap by half a mm or so. that leaves basically no room for porting. i have a set of stock reeds and cages right on my desk and there is no room for improvement that i can see. with that said. porting reed cages is a black art. anyone can do it in 3 minutes,. but if you want cages that actually perform better than stock be prepared to spend at least an hour or 2 on each cage. thats what i have seen from people who rally know their shit. macdizzy.com has a lot of info in their forums on porting stock rd rz and banshee cages.
