inthemail
i hear there lighter? and use j-arms instead of a-arms. is there any other real differences? im using one for my build, easy to get.
Fireroad Express
i got two of them here if ya need it.! used front suspension parts may be cheaper to get for them. not sure if they're lighter or not. brake calipers and spindels are different too(i have a set of those as well). the original rear carrier is also a bit different on J-arm bikes but doesn't matter much. dajogejr
If you're building a drag bike or one that only sees sand, hell yes. But the arms are getting pricier..don't forget, they only made J Arms from 87 to 90...A Arms from there on out.

xXBlessedWithDeathXx
i didnt know the spindels and calipers were different. think my savings in the frame price will be cancelled out by increased cost in those parts? i had never even thought of this..... bummer * What about aftermarket spindles for j-arm front ends????? if you have newer style spindles with the hubs they will work on J-arms but you need both. older spindles dont fit 91 and up hubs. i think it was a 13 or 14 pound difference in the front end. i seen that in the clymer manual. the front brake lines are also different on the J-frame but if you have 91 and up parts they will fit you just need to use every thing but the arms. i have 2 J-arm frames and have no problems in trails or hills. i also put on D-arms to replace the J-arms. i cant say J-arms suck seeing i never had a problem with them but they are gettingg harder to find and pricey. PUT THAT IN YOUR REPAIR MANUAL. i still have the spindles off my 1990 j arm and just put them next one of a 2002 and they are the exact same . but your probably right and the repair manual is wrong .
