bunboy1 Posted January 24, 2008 Report Share Posted January 24, 2008 hi all, i was wondering, does anyone have any knowledge on gasket kits. i noticed that there are a lot of different manufacturers for these. how about tusk, rockymountains house brand? or should i get some made by cometic? any help would be great, i really need to get this thing built and broken in by presidents day weekend, thanks. Bobman13 Posted January 24, 2008 Report Share Posted January 24, 2008 I've had good luck with Tusk, Athena, & Weisco. I've also used K&K but Thought the craftmanship could be better. I never had bad luck with any including Comtec, Just make shure you Surfaces are free of any old Gaskett Remnants and that you use a Torque Wrench ( Good&Tight ) Dosen't cut it. jbooker82 Posted January 25, 2008 Report Share Posted January 25, 2008 I just buy a couple Base gaskets, and reed gaskets from a guy on ebay. He cuts his own. Justintoxicated Posted January 25, 2008 Report Share Posted January 25, 2008 This is the first time I have heard bad about Cometic. Anything in particular you would like to share? The head gaskets are flat and don't seal up as nice as others that have the OEM raised portion. Gaskets are kinda cheap so I'd rather get something decent.
