Bobman13
Get some Elka's if you can afford them, I've ran TCS, and Works Before and Liked them but then rode a buddies Bike with Elka Dune Series and Loved them. I-shock seem's to be good but I havn't run them But I think Work's are better for the Price to what you Get. Just My two Cents.
FireHead
Elka would be my frist choice, thne TCS, then Works...........
RNBRAD
Thing nice with works is you can specifically design the look of your shock as with the other companies you can't.
Shawn G
I ride mostly in Glamis. I bought Laeger LT arms, with Elka Dune Edition shocks w/resis. For the rear, I had Precision concepts revalve my shock and install a new Eibach spring. Suspension is by far the best money you can spend on your bike! socal909
now im leaning towards on getting the elkas. where can i get the best price and what a-arms should i get with them(laeger). should i replace the rear shock as well, does it make that much of a difference. Shawn G
I got a good deal at Alba (a friend used to work there), otherwise I probably would have went elsewhere. I've noticed that Golden West Cycle/Cycle Parts West usually advertises package deals on the Laeger & Elka combos. Dirt Wheels or any other quad magazine will give you lots of options. I had my rear shock done about a year before the front suspension, and it made a huge difference. Even with a stock front, you can always better your ride using the throttle in certain situations, but only an upgraded rear will get rid of that nasty kick. I took it to Precision Concepts and just told them my weight, riding style, and where I primarily ride. I think I paid about $300 for the new spring, revalve, and seal kit (the seal kit only needs to be done the first time). Now I can revalve the shock on my own should I choose to. Plus, with the rebound and compression adjustments I can fine tune my bike for the rocks or sand.

Elka has the most engineering oriented shock out of any of the mid-priced shock folks out there. :geek:
RNBRAD
most engineering oriented. :geek: What's that mean?
Lepew
I think that means, to aquaint with the practical applications of scentific and mathamatical principles. In english, more math and less trial and error?
FireHead
What's that mean? They actually have CAD parametized designed parts. When you call and order a shock from them, if it is outside of a general known application, they build the shock in a simulation model instead of just guess at a list of parts........... :geek:

FireHead
Which companies do the guessing? Works guesses (don't let the coputerized ball valve design advertising fool you). TCS guesses, but they have always guesssed correctly as far as the stuff that I have purchased from them goes. If you by Ohlins products that were assembled in the USA, then they guess at what you need and so does Fox. Don't get me wrong, all the guessing is semi-educated, but it's hust not the same thing as what Elka or Axis (Penske) do. :geek:
