98 shee devil Posted January 17, 2008 Report Share Posted January 17, 2008 im spliting the cases and going to run them threw a diesel bath i was just woundering ... can i just pull the transmission gears out and averything else...clean it up and put it all back in or is there a certain order to it all? brugal Posted January 17, 2008 Report Share Posted January 17, 2008 You can pull the transmission gears out and everything else clean em up and put it all back in,but their is a certain order. Once you have them split 1)remove the 2 dowel pins 2)remove the counter shaft 3)remove the main shaft 4)remove the 2 countershaft bearing clips from the lower crank case I recomend you get a book Clymer is the bomb.If you want a better idea of what it will take,do a search Big Red started a post a while back with pics of him splitting the cases.
