Bolt replacement kits

great looking kits. i bought one for my machine last year. they look good but i wouldn't trust them for any high torque applications like on the head or cylinders. also, i wouldn't use them on the shock mounts or anywhere on the suspension(front or rear). i mostly used them on the stator cover, clutch cover, intakes, brake resevoirs, throttle cover, mounting the body plastic and anywhere that strength wasn't a critical factor. i find these fasteners are alot softer then the stock nuts and bolts and i just wouldn't trust my life to them. IMO

I bought the first one, fastener guy...used all of his kit on my drag motor/chassis with no issues.

 

They are not "show quality" polished, but they are nice. I used the motor bolts/nuts, suspension....no issues at all.

 

They do not make swingarm bolts, upper J or A Arm bolts or foot peg bolts. The rest is all there, labeled nicely...

 

Since I have a drag bike, I didn't end up using half the bolts (things like plastic mounts, front brake bolts, etc.) I sold all the remaining to bigboybanshee....

 

I bought three kits at once, two for a banshee and one for a YFZ, I think he gave me each kit for 80 or 85 and free shipping cause I bought a few.

 

I would have no reservation to use this kit again...

 

Here's the tip, you really should use a thread lubricant/sealer on all of these, Stainless nuts/bolts have a tendency to gall or strip if they have the smallest nip, knick or booger on either thread. Just a little food for though. Drop or two per fastener, you'll be fine!!

Tonz of left over, mis matched.

 

Here's the thing, I built a drag bike. No front brakes, no lights, I took the plastics off since....

 

The other thing, I had to use bolts for something to mount things like a fuel pump under the seat, and an aftermarket coil, etc...

 

I stole from other areas of the bike that I wasn't going to need in order to mount things I did.

 

Also...my Lonestar Drag axle has SAE studs on it, so...the wheel nuts for the back won't fit.

 

It was a real pain in the dick....but, all the motor and suspension bolts worked out perfect. I think I sold the remainder of the bolts to Travis for like 20 bucks or so....he got a nice assortment for a few bucks.

It really all depends on how much you leave off the bike Kaos...:) Hope this helps.

 

I mean, they have screw for the front brake reservoir cover.....it's that detailed!!

i got the one from alloy bolts and the kit was great almost showe comndition. another min or so not even and they would be. i didn't have a lot of bolts left over just the ones from things that io took off and didn't put on like tores and things like that. i love the kit just wish it came with upper a-arms bolts too. the foot pegs and lower motor supports are seperit. get kit from this guy. also got one for a 400ex and it was great too. fastner guy i have no clue about his. i would go with alloy bolts store on ebay.

I have had mixed results with these kits. I got an alloy boltz kit for my first bike and it was junk, nothing worked, the bolts would strip with no torque. BUT I tried another alloy kit on my new build and its flawless so far. My first kit seemed like it wasnt tempered or something, i dont knot but it didnt work. I would use them again now though since my second kit is good. My bro used fastner guy kit and it was good too.

I purchased the AlloyBoltz kit for my rebuild and I was very happy with it..

When I shipped my motor to Passion Racing I through all the bolts for the whole motor in the box and when Jim stripped my motor and put everything back together he used all the new stuff..Its a nice kit, I think I got the foot peg bolts seperate, ther upper A-arm bolt I got brand new ones bc they are not included, and the swingarm bolt also isnt included...

I used loctite on basically everything...After the second or third ride I re torqued all the head bolts, they were still tight, and every couple of rides or so I go around and check all, and so far so good..

No compliants at all, o0o yea and I did have alot of shit left over... but whatever...lol

I bought a kit like these off ebay for my 250R and they were all individually labeled and packaged for the different parts. Like mentioned above, I used anti-seize on every bolt to keep from stripping them. You'll probably end up with extras no matter what kit you buy if you've installed any aftermarket parts since you won't have a use for alot of bolts for parts you've removed.

I got His Kit for my first Banshee Build and It worked out great Good Price, Althought you end up with extra's witch isn't a bad thing just trowing it out there. I was going to get anouther set but I have a good souce for S.S. Cap heads at a resonable price when I buy in bulk.

You'll probably end up with extras no matter what kit you buy if you've installed any aftermarket parts since you won't have a use for alot of bolts for parts you've removed.

 

 

They were packaged great, but only 1/2 of them fit what they were intended for....I got the kit from fastnerguy. It's probably going to cost me another $50 to piece together bolts for the rest of the bike, so I said screw it and just left the stock bolts.

 

The upper arm bolts fit if you don't mind the nylock nuts being on the very end threads, none of the swingarm bolts fit. Footpegs were not included and good luck finding those anymore, but you might be able to get some custom made. Lower A-arm bolts are not included. None of the engine mounting botls fit (well the 2 long ones kinda fit but they are not allenheads), brake hub bolts did not fit. He sent me a some more bolts to try to make it right but they simply did not fit. Couple other thigns you can only use one of the botls due to specialty yamaha bolts (like for the steering stem). Front hub/caliper bolts are not included.

 

Light bolts fit, plastic bolts fit, case bolts fit, brake resevor and other stuff mostly fit. Reed bolts fit, side case cover bolts fit (but I already had both of those), wheel nuts were garbage (who wants to use a nut washer and lockwasher for each of the wheel nuts?) I ended up with alot of extras. I was able to use bolts that did not fit one thing to fit something else sometimes, so thats a plus.
