fastrthnu
This has been happening for some time now, and its starting to piss me off. On a full tank everything is fine, but once it gets down lower than a half, gas just will not stop comming up out of the vent tube. I have an extra long peice of it cut and looped and tied off, and gas will come out like it just out of the petcock damn near. I have to loosen the cap for it to stop and if I tighten it again, itll start again. If I dont tie it off its the same,. no matter what variable. Bad cap? Hilarious
That is very strange. Have you got a stock gas cap? When you loosen the cap can you hear a rush of air escaping the gas tank? The check valve in the cap may be bad.

350BANSHEE350
what cap you got? i have the tusk one and the vent tube works good but gas does leak take the tube of and suck it or blow it not sure which i think you need to suck it yeah suck it. if it works good then stuff a spare main jet in the tube and that will stop the gas from coming out but not air flow .. as long as you have some

I tried taking the smaller check ball out, and that seemed to help some. But some still came out when Id rattled it good.

jbooker82
I have a long vent tube that goes down to the bottom frame tube by the lower a arm. I have an aftermarket cap that doesnt have a check valve. So it seeps a little fuel out. That way the fuel doesnt spill on the plastic or other parts. If it was just gas I wouldnt worry but after a while the oil build really atracts dirt. So i just vent my fuel tank clear down.

CombatTalon2
I had this exact problem the other day. I opend up the cap and removed the piece of cloth that is just a filter i assume, after i removed it and put the check balls back in place i have NO Leak at all. I run an inline fuel filter, so if the vent tube sucks some dust im not too worried about it.
