wacko2000
So Im thinking about having my shee dyno tuned..I have the bike running pretty good, buy just not good enough... Whats does everyone think about the dyno tune? Does this really get it spot on? Im new to the dyno thing... What is a average fare price to pay for this... There is a guy around here that is supposed to be REALLY good with banshee's...he has a dyno and says that he could get high 60's out of my shee...I really dont care about how much power he can steal, I just want her to run good... So anyone with any info please chime in.... thanks Joseph
spurdy
Had mine done earlier this week. $50 for the dyno run + $50 for the tune + $10 for jets. I thought that was really reasonable. Was expecting around $250-$300 for a total. I am new to the dyno tune as well so I didn't know what to expect for price. SP
wacko2000
thanks but I need some more info than that...lol How was your shee performing before uou brought it there and how is it running now? whats the differences, would you do it again? I think this guy wanted more around the 200 marker...
jesse1004
the guy here charged 150 for everything, including a different needle and jets. when we started i knew it was rich cuz I was breaking in the motor still. It was at 59 at first and 64 when we were done. then we put on the ignition and got a few more.
wesw
50 an hr from nmotion usually if you change the jets and do most of the work. also with your stock carbs you goign to be limited to what you can do cant change needles out. just pilot, clip and mains. with is ok. also dyno tuning and real world tuning are usually different. dyno gets you close but half the time it will come back rich from dyno and not run well out in the real world. so use it as a good starting point. im leaning you will learn how thristy jim motor are once your on it in the mid range. BansheeRider71
Well my best friend had his shee dyno tuned an he payed like $120 for the tuning an dyno time, his shee dynoed 55HP with just mild port ,FMF pipes, +4 timing and cool-head 20cc domes and K&N filter , V-Force2 reeds and a new top-end, Lonnie at Sandtrax did the bike. Lepew
You will never get dead on, on a dyno. The dyno does not replicate the exact conditions you will ride in. The other problem with dynos is calibration, you might dyno it at shop A and it produces 58 Hp, then you dyno it at shop B and it produces 64 Hp. wacko2000
Yea I understand that the temps and condition wont be the same but as long as it will get it close and then I have to make slight changes Im cool with that..Im just hopin that the dyno would give me a good starting point I guess.. Lepew
Starting point? You said you had it running pretty good. Aren't you past the starting point stage?
wacko2000
Yea man.I just keep getting fustrated bc I have tried so many different jetting combos, It like I just settled, but I kno that Its capable of running alot better...I dont have anything spots around me that I can go to, spend the whole day and keep runnning her..The cops around here are crazy..So i figure is the dyno will get her real real close, then when Im out riding and I have to change just the main or needle positon real quick no biggie, ya kno.. smokin350
Hey wacko i was just wondering who u were gonna get it dynoed from i saw that ur sig said staten island and was wondering if it was SPEED FREEKS Racing cause Eric is a good guy and knows his shit and i think he charges 75 an hour my bike was 200 for everything and he gets it on the money for me. I mean u could even feel the difference in ur thumb when u give it gas and also how crisp it sounds, plus he takes it up and down the street and makes sure everthing is perfect and the best part is he squezzes the hp out of ur bike while making it reliable at the same time!!!! If it's him he's located in Bay Ridge now rite off 3rd ave tell him Dom from Jersey sent u and he'll take care of u i spent like 10,000 in the last 2 years with him. Listen he even jetted my bike for glamis here and when i went out there it could'nt have been more on so if its him feel safe to go there!!! Thanks Smokin350
