For what you are gonna pay for the noss head and tors removal you could get a new set of pwk carburetors 30mm or so.

Id get an adjustable timing plate, the cheap 35 dollar one.

Grease caps, dont know how much they are but i wouldnt buy them. Id look at a set of tusk aluminum bars, they are cheap 28 bucks and come with a cross bar and pad. Grips are grips, get some cheap ones.

i'd save the 250 and put it towards a good port job. think ahead and plan your buys for your anticipated mods in the future. for example,if you think you may want a stroker crank, start keeping your eyes open for a good deal on a set of larger carbs.

Hey thanks a lot for the replies, I was thinking about a port job pretty hard and I decided thats what iM gonna do. Since Im already ordering from FAST racing I was strongly thinking about getting the play/dune port job from them.. Now my new questions: Do I ship the whole motor or what? How much does this cost? I have 280 main jets now like toomey called for, will I need bigger mains and have to rejet?

I know I dont know very much about the banshee's or even modding in general thats why I ask these seemingly dumb questions right now, so thanks for the patience and replies, I spend a good couple hours most every day just reading on here

you'd just ship the jugs to get ported. fast has a pretty good rep judging by what people on here are saying. jeff should be able to answer any jetting and set-up questions you have for him.a rejet will probably be required. i'm not sure on cost, but probably between 350 and 400? good luck with your build!

ditch the noss/cool head. not worth it. i have one and it barely dropped my temps at all. the ONLY useful feature of a noss/cool head is the ability to change domes. but honestly most people never even do this.

you could argue that another unique feature of those type of heads is the orings, but that isnt unique because the stock head can be cut for orings as well.

if you dont want or need orings then you can get a stock head cut to match the domes of a noss/cool head for 45 bucks. for the price of 1 oring kit, you can buy 4 or 5 stock head gaskets.

if you want an oringed head, you can get the stock head oringed at the same time its cut for more compression and it wont even break the hundred dollar mark.

instead of going with vforce reed system, just get the stock reed cages ported. cost is about $50 for the pair. thats 1/4 the cost of v force and most people dont need vforce anyways. if big 7mm drag bikes can use stock cages then they probably flow enough for 95% of the banshees out there.

I agree with the above, your builder will be able to answer all your questions the best..If you are only getting ported, then you jugs will only needed to be shipped..It is pretty expensive to ship the whole motor, I shipped mine when I had it rebuilt and It was over $100 bucks..

Good luck with your shee.. I would listen to the guys on here they really now there stuff.

Wow csrmel, I must have gotton ripped off back when I had to buy head gaskets,,,,I paid more than $4 for them. And not to be pissy but a stock head can't be cut to 'match' good domes. You can mill them to raise compression but not to have the same chamber characteristics with proper spark plug height. I don't want to start anything but just want information to be accurate.

Hey Dave..I've been meaning to reply to your post for a few days now, finally getting around to it.

First off, I've always appreciated your help and insight, you are a true asset to our site and sport. Thank you...

Now...my question...

I've alway had a problem getting aftermarket heads to seal. Do you have any plans, in the near future or Horizon...for a one piece shell and removable domes.

Less Orings, more rigid construction and better clamping force would be my best guess for a new design.

Dave, I have no idea how much time, energy and $$ it would take to redo or redesign something like this...just thought I'd throw that out there for discussion...
