i paid 195 but he said thats because i got to him before the first of the year and he just now got back with me cause he was out of town.think he said they are 235 now.still not bad being you don't have to buy a different clutch cover

I have the slingshot lockup on my shelf in the garage, but I have the design that fits under a normal lockout cover...since I already had the finger style lockout.

I'll be putting mine on today or tomorrow, but...I won't be able to test it out till the lakes around here refreeze...

I've never dyno'd my 10 mil, and I'll have nothing to compare it against till sand season.

it's a cool looking device, and others...as said, swear by it's clamping force. We shall see....

He was out of town on a snowmobiling trip, but has always been quick to answer my PMs on Planet Sand.

Yep....

Some respected big name builders use them for their bigger, higher HP motors and they have proven to hold better...

I think the whole muck issues started with a dyno that was used and it's video....got ugly from there, but I think they kissed and made up in the end.

Kevin Gigot is a good guy and very smart...

Firehead is the engineer type, as is Kevin... Just like other builders, sometimes they don't see eye to eye on methods or practices....shit happens...:)

Homie...just an FYI.

I posted this up on PS.

I got mine on, and I couldn't get the clutch to disengage...

I've always run an extra steel plate in my clutch, and it turns out that .045 steel plate didn't give any clearance, so when tightened down....nadda.

PM'd Kevin and left him a Voicemail, called me back in 1/2 hour and the first thing he said is....do you have thicker than stock steels or fibers, or do you have an extra steel? Nailed it....

got her on now....can't wait to ride it. For my 10 mil, he recommended 1 row of balls removed. That will give me the same locking power of a DD unit, which I took off. However, my clutch is a little worn...and I'll be on ice picks when our lakes "re-freeze" again....

He tried something new with mine, two bolts and two bushings to hold it all together to bolt it on. He said I could use these bolts and bushings, I'd just have to loctite them in to run it. I opted to remove them once installed...

Check it out...(yeah...I got PC on the inside of the motor...that's how I roll...LOL)

I am pretty sure we still won't agree on the dyno thing, but Kevin is a good guy and he certainly knows what he's doing.

With regard to the GP clutch setup, form what I have read, there is about a 50/50 split in the industry with people using the clutches with success and others that won't touch the product or have had bad luck with it. I think that is just where you get to with a high end product like that in a recreational based industry.

I still don't get along with Nate.................., which has nothing to do with his work or business. :ermm:
