Anything bare aluminum will work great though. Aluminum conducts heat very well. fin structure and inner tube size would prob be the only difference. want rigid fins and big tubes. I never had a problem with the stock radiator + engine ice, but I would probably go aftermarket if my stock one ever gives out. hell I need to add that to my stock parts list! Bansh-eman Posted January 8, 2008 Report Share Posted January 8, 2008 spending 300-400 on a new rad is a waste of money, if your motor is over heating with a stock rad you have an issue that needs to be fixed. the stock rad has more then enough surface area to effectivly cool the motor. the only time it might be worth doing is your riding in HOT areas down in low valleys where there isnt much air flow. other then that engine ice or water wetter and a stock rad with a billet impelle is all that is needed. BaNsHeeJuNkEy Posted January 8, 2008 Report Share Posted January 8, 2008 i have a oversize pwr on mine and my bike will be in the woods in 95 degree weather sitting there and will not over heat. i put engine ice in it and i noticed between the two my motor took longer to get hot and stood a lot cooler i can put my hand on my radiator and cylinder on my shee and it is not hot in the winter and the same on my kx as long as the outside temp is below 40. i love both and will stand by them. good stuff.
