wacko2000 Posted January 1, 2008 Report Share Posted January 1, 2008 Exactly what it says above...I went riding, came home washed the shee then I took her for alittle spin around the block, I shifted from 1st to 2nd and hit the throttle, before I new it I was on my ass and the shee flipped over... Can someone tell me why this happens bc This isnt the first time the throttle has gotten stuck on me..... Please help....This shit sucks.. My ass is killing me I cant even sit down.... shee rips Posted January 1, 2008 Report Share Posted January 1, 2008 if it was cold outside the water could have frozen the slides open. mine froze on me one time in the throttle assembly on the handlebars. if you have the tors removed i heard that it will stick if you tighten the carb tops too tight. hope that helps. How did you find it and how did you fix it? what sucks is that i never ride my shee with out the kill switch, I mean NEVER and the one time I dont look what happens..That switch has saved me so many times.... Zach I bent the wheelie bar, and bent an a-arm.... no biggie if you would have seen it you would understand how lucky i got...The new a-arm is in the mail already.... sheerider1026 Posted January 1, 2008 Report Share Posted January 1, 2008 i have had that problem .. i have heard that wet throrrle cables on banshees tend to stick.. i always hang my cables up and oil them and let them soak for an hour or so prior to instaling.. last longer and are smoother.. Dinner Posted January 2, 2008 Report Share Posted January 2, 2008 My slides kept sticking open the other afternoon I was riding. As mentioned earlier...it was probably the water/condensation in your carbs. My shee has been sitting in the open cold air due to my shop under construction. Right carb slide kept sticking every now and then so I had to blip the throttle to have it come back down. Once the moisture was gone they didn't stick anymore... Some of the slide is black and some isnt, should I clean up the whole slide? thanks guys for all the info... The throttle cable is new...TORs is removed.. . Posted January 2, 2008 Report Share Posted January 2, 2008 you just washed your bike, it was below freezing, and you were moving through the air. That little bit of residual water froze your throttle cable, or your slides in the carb body. How well oiled is the cable? Thats more likely the culprit.
