Aussie Quad Racer
your slides are sticking open due to the moisture, it is common on banshee carbs, solutions are different carbs, heavier springs in carb or you can try polishing the inside of the carb where the slide runs. This is why yamaha has tors, they knew all along this would happen, road bikes using same carbies in late seventies suffered from it in the rain
RagunCajun
mine did it when i rebuilt my engine. Turns out the idle screws were in a tad too much.
BANKRUPT
Some of the slide is black and some isnt, should I clean up the whole slide? thanks guys for all the info... The throttle cable is new...TORs is removed.. the black on the slides isnt good. should be silver (slippy stuff) i dont think you can clean the black off (really rought right?) i think its worn past the silver coating to the black (sanding with make it worst.) I think you need slides (samething happened to me>>>got new slides>>>np now)

Geoff
It's the slide hanging up because of the moisture. My stock carbs did this numerous times out here on the Oregon coast when I would first start it either early in the morining or late at night. I'd take off and the throttle would hang wide open and i could bleep it and it would come back down. Once you got it warmed up it would go away. I tried oiling the throttle cable like everyone on here has recommended and I even bought a new throttle cable. I ended up buying some 30mm carbs with chromed D-slides and I've never had the problem again. the chrome slides don't hang up like the stockers do..very smooth. I'd be willing to bet this is the same problem you are having.
trex banshee
i had the same thing happen to me on my stock bike. I was in 2nd punched the trottle and it took off. Threw my ass off and i went sliding down the paved road, chewing up my pants, ass, phone, and then my palms when i tried to stop myself. And i watched my bike keep flipping and slide down the rode stuck wide open. I still don't know what caused it but it does it all the time so i put a pro design kill switch on it and just hang on!
RUDEDAWG
WD-40 the hell out of the cables and let it drain out then oil the heck out of them,, that will certainly help cause WD-40 displaces moisture and also acts like a de-icer. my.
wacko2000
thanks guys for all the responses.. Hey trex I kno the feeling, the bike threw me on my as and I watched her flip over...The sad part is that I have a prod-design kill switch and NEVER ride without...But after I washed the shee was just taking her around the block to dry her off....Oo0o0 boy what a mistake that was...
