Port and Polish vs Works Suspension

I ride trails, and hillclimb, not many jumps around here and i dont do motocross, so my question to you guys is would you spend the money on the motor or go with suspension?

right now I just have t5's with a twin air air filter system. still have TORS on and every thing so its pretty damn near stock...

I thought the suspension would be a good investment, but after hearing all this talk about how much porting and polishing helps im kinda torn...

its an '04 and was barely rode until I got it in august

I would get the porting first, stock suspension is fine for regular trail riding and pits, specialy if you dont jump. and a nice dune port will work awesome with your t-5 I got porting way before suspension and i dont regret it one bit

OMG Someone on here who thinks like me lol...You must be young like me and can take the abuse? The banshee suspension has never really bothered me in trails and I never jump my banshee

im the same way, the stock suspension has never bothered me. Ive jumped mine off dumb little 20-30 footers and it still doesnt bother me.

if the stock suspension doesnt bother you, i gues you havnt ridden with anything other than it?

sure you can ride trails on it and say it doesnt bother you, but if you had some decent shocks, you could go alot faster through rough stuff, faster through whoops, corner way better and you wont tire out as fast, but if you wana fly on the straights and then almost kill yourself on every turn and whoop or bump then yea get it ported first and keep the strock front end

Why are you telling him to get a dune port when he rides the trails? Sure it might pump out a little more HP than a aggresive trail port but the dune port wont be usable power. He needs the power down low and mid range. So a trail port should be better for him. I talked to Kevin at HERR Jugz and thats what he told me. I would get a timing plate and go +4. You will see a big gain in power for under $100. And spend the rest of the money on the suspension. Your shee is faster than most of the things out there as it is, But it handles like shit. So spend the money on some a-arms and shocks. Oh yea dont 4get a rear axle as well.

Definatly get A-Arms and suspension first. You can have all of the power in the world but if you cant keep the wheels to the ground it dont mean jack. Not to mention the fact that a dune ported trail bike will get smoked in the woods by a Banshee with just pipes and good suspension. All Ive ever done was ride woods I know alot of pro riders and Im speaking with expirence.

if youre trails are mostly flat then getting better suspension wont do shit. but a port job would be wasted if the trails you ride require only an occasional full throttle.

so it depends on the type of trails to determine if suspension would be better than a port job, if a port job is even needed.

need more info about the trails and how much you are at full throttle.
