spike
It is a billet basket indeed but unlike all of the others it is made out of a billet of stainless steel instead of a billet of aluminum. Billet is not a material but the machinable piece that the material come in bulk in the factory. My question is why is this the only one I've seen that is made off stainless? Weight would be the only downfall I could think off. Would the heavier stainless makes that much off a differerence VS the lighter aluminum? RoostRocket
i wouldnt want to add any more rotational mass especially when most any billet basket will be plenty good.

FireHead
Somone makes an ally basket with stell insert in the disc dog grooves. Technically speaking, that is the most efficiently designed aftermarket basket I have seen. With that said though, you really should need that feature if your clutch discs are in good condition and you monitor the entire system closely and regularly. :geek:

Got that generator kicking, or you live with power now? I forget who makes that basket with steel inserts, Boysen maybe? It's a known name... I've got the magnum billet aluminum basket from FAST, held up two years no problems, beat the hell out of it, made hundreds of passes on 300 foot and the dunes over the last two years. Justintoxicated
Also take a look at the grain forged wiseco basket. Should be a good deal stronger than regular billet ones. My friend that helped me drill out the rivots on the stock one said it looked to be noticably better quality than the hinson (not that you necessarily need that much quality and technology in a clutch basket)... That said stainless sounds nice too, I can't imagine it would weigh too much more than adding something like a lockup clutch... I was thinking the same thing about the lockup weight, plus you'll never groove the damn thing. I'l try emailing them tonight if they can give me a weight figure for them... we'll see what kind of service they give..
No Limit Powersports
Sorry guys that was a misprint the baskets are billet aluminum with a stainless steel backing plate. The baskets are very light and comparable to all the major brands.
