Frogger
Thanks for all the suggestions. I've actually been reading on here about the 450 shocks on the banshee. Sounds like that's the cheapest and most effective way to do it? Would you change out the a-arms too. I know the 450 shocks sit up higher. Michael Jackson
if your gona run 450 shocks you are gona want some wider a arms to go with them. but do not get the 450 a arms unless you want your front end on the ground and your frame and a-arms hitting every rock on the trails, even so to make the 450 shocks work the best you will want them rebuilt, revalved, new springs, for yoru weight and stuff,, could get costly if your gona go that route just buy sonme aftermarket shocks, if your just lookin for a cheap way to improve just toss on some used 450 shocks and play with the adjustments a bit. im sure there is a way to soften them up a bit, im 230lbs+ and my friends yfz 450 felt stiff as hell even for me
91banshee
you wana go fast ? get a arms , a set of nice front shocks and a wide rear axel put your money in making the banshee handle better and next get yfz 450 brakes , they stop a lot better and bolt right on big diffrance the banshees suspension and brake are out of date . You need to look in to your wallet for the answer to that question. How much do you want to spend?

How much do you want to spend? :yelrotflmao: :yelrotflmao: :yelrotflmao: So true So true. Alba has a sale going on A-Arms, Elka shocks, shipping total is $750. YOu get to pick from diff Arms and shocks. Good deal for quality shit!
Frogger
Yeah true. I was looking and it seemed like I could get a package deal for around $1500 but that's a little tough for me to spend that much. But if I could get the same thing for $750, I wouldn't feel bad about that at all.
Frogger
Oh and if you go wider on the front doesn't that mean i need to go wider on the back at the same time? And would you upgrade the rear shock as well?
TexasBansheeMan
That or have your stock shock reworked. Buy an axel Durblue or the like, but making it wider all round is always better. Mine is 4" in the rear and 2" in the front with flipped rims so its just a bit wider than rear I love the way it rides.
jbooker82
Yea most people have the rear stock shock rebuilt and resprung. For an alxe get a G Force adjustable +2+4 from rocky mountain atv for 199. The Posi Lock nut is even inclueded in that price.
TexasBansheeMan
$199 is a Deal!!!!! Damn!
RUDEDAWG
suspension THEN a port job. period. Dont drag port your bike unless you tried riding a drag shee before. The powerband is shit for playing around. It's all or nothing. Im ported and sure i love the huge power increase but w/o a smooth ride it isnt as enjoyable as it could be. You cant fly over whoops or bumpys stuff if your bike is bouncing all over the place. Yup, what ragun cajun said, I can get it on at first but, I always lay off the throttle when I start to hit the whoops (it sucks). It scares the hell out of me, call me a wuss but I am still alive!
jbooker82
$199 is a Deal!!!!! Damn! They just charge an honest price for a chrome plated splined rod. 400 for an axle is way overpriced.
RagunCajun
my 450 complete front end is up for sale. $325 shipped. It will handle a lot better than stock but the ride height get's lowered but it's not too low for me. You have to work the bike to get it the front up but it's awesome for drag racing. If you look in the images forums i have recent pics of my bike(black and white with the ladies grill). I just want something w/ normal height and more travel. Some love the set up. Some hate it.
