Hollister_Hitman
Get a -2" swingarm. I have one it will make your bike hook up nice and corner even nicer. Also your bike won't become a wheelie machine with it so don't worry
nunyabinness
what kind of tires are you running? how long is your swing arm?
qboronyrican
i got stock swingarm with the largest holeshots they make...i think 23 in front and 22 in back.....im also thinking of going with rear spacers to extend a little on the axel cause i dont want to go to far for trail ridding reasons Edited December 11, 2007 by qboronyrican
Michael Jackson
everyone has their own preferance on tires.. 22's are huge and heavy though, we all trail ride with 20's, theres lots of different brands depending on what type of terrain you riding on or prefernece of 6 ply or 4 ply, widening the axle does not help traction, it does the opposite, and if your gona widen your rear end, buy an axle, not wheel spacers. fuck wheel spacers
qboronyrican
thanks for that....the reason i have the bigger tires is for ground clearence......anyway....anyone else have any advise on getting hooked up?
RagunCajun
pro wedges. period. but stay off asphalt/cement. i have cut knarlys and i still want more traction. Edited December 11, 2007 by RagunCajun
Washburn
You do have your gearing pretty set for topend with that big of rears. I have 20in rear Razr 2s and they are great for clearence and riding through the tough stuff and you dont have to sacrifice bottom end at all. You could also try droping a tooth on the front sproket. Bet that would help. Your other options is to do what Hollister Hitman said and get a - swingarm. Guarenteed you wont have any traction problems with a -2 or -3 swingarm and you will corner better. I have a Lonestar new style roundhouse -3 PCed red swingarm straight as straight get no cracks or anything. New bushings without carrier I can do 240.00 shipped. I am sticking to stock untill I get this Elka linkage figured out then I will buy a new -2 or -3 swingarm.
qboronyrican
thanks for the info and offer on that -3 swingarm but i think im going to go with a -2 and for the sprocket i already went down a tooth so i dont want to go anymore and sacrifice top end
Coupelx
i went up on my front sprocket and got faster on my razrs.
EastCoast Banshee
Like the others said shorter swinger and you wont have traction problems. i will say though 22s has got to be a pain to ride with try some 20s i think it'll make a bigger difference than you believe. Washburn
A shorter swingarm puts the rear wheels closer to the motor making traction 100xs better, Plus cornering factors are alot eayser and faster with a shorter swingarm plus it will jump in the air alot better. They are great for dirt/trail MX XC, TT, and Pit riding/racing it will be like a whole new bike. I think the stock swingarm is to long for us dirt riders but when you start getting into the motor and getting the ports more and more open you will need a longer swingarm but that sucks for any of the riding I listed above. Mine is pending a sale rite now but if it doesnt go through I will put it back up.
sheerider1026
2 words "HONDA RADIALS" run the honda radials, they bite like hell and are a great all around tire, just keep them off the asphalt,
Hollister_Hitman
I don't care what tire you are gonna run in the dirt, a banshee will not hook up with a stock swingarm
