Thanks Tim second gear is the weakest gear on a banshee tranny.sounds like maybe you have some teeth missing off of it.drain the fluid and see if any metal shavings come out of it before you tear it down
2strokespirit
It is difficult to explain in english. Your second gear has a problem yeah, the gears does not mesh nice into each other, maybe there is a washer missing between some gears (not sure if there's a washer between 2nd gear) or the shoulders on the side of the gear were the 2 gears syncronise into each other are rounded or wear so they will slip. My tecnical side of explaining in in english is not very good, sorry.
Snopczynski
Sometimes the cogs on the side of the gear that engage get rounded or damaged and the gear will slip. Split the cases and take a look at it. Make sure your chain is not actually slipping though.
toolman
Thanks for the info I will not get to work on it until the weekend I will post my findings. I all ready checked the chain and sprockets they are ok and fairly new. I just put that in my post because I had seen that before from my son on his bike and the sound was the same.
