r1000banshee
Hello All, I just bought banshee with an R1 motor on it... I'm worried about the stock axle breaking, and I'm wondering what axle would be best. I'll be using it for duning, Not just drag racing, but jumps, hillshooting ect.... so I don't want a skinny axle. Any info would be great. a few more questions, if I put 1/2 inch wheel spacers on the front of my shee will the steering circle suffer alot? Would it be wise to use wheel spacers in the rear with the amount of power my machine has, should I worry about breaking stock hub studs? or should I just buy new extended alluminum hubs for the rear? Sorry guys, I'm a big newb.... But thanks for any info regaurding my questions. -Scott Edited December 5, 2007 by r1000banshee
bigboybanshee
I wouldn't run spacers, just get an axle that's wider...especially since you're already in the market to buy one. PRM makes a good axle if you plan to dune the bike, not drag race it. On the front, I wouldn't think the power of the engine is going to have an impact on steering, but I would still stray away from spacers up front and go with a +2 + 1 set of a-arms. r1000banshee
My A-Arms up front are custom made and are about +4 over stock and use ds650 coils, but it still seems skinny to me, Are wheel spacers going to disrupt the integrity of my front end? all in all it rides about 10-12 inches taller than stock. -Scott Edited December 5, 2007 by r1000banshee
bigboybanshee
Well, if you're going to be jumping it, when you land it'll be putting a lot of stress on those wheel studs. You may be able to run them w/ no problems, but I personally wouldn't do it. It's just my opinion. As far as just plain ol duning, trail riding, etc. the wheel spacers would be plenty fine....but I wouldn't go hitting any jumps w/ spacers on...but like I said, that's just me  Have you thought about maybe getting an offset wheel to add more width? Haven't really thought about it, no... I'll look at that, I think that's my best option. Thanks man!
dajogejr
NO offense, but have you thought about how shitty that thing will be jumping with all that extra weight? I'd get a Lonestar axle, lifetime warranty no questions asked. Pricey...but you're in a pricey game now... I'd slam that bike and make it a dragger and get something else for dune riding... I think with the motor weight, offset center of gravity, etc., it'll ride like crap for trails and overall duning/jumping, etc.

But during hil lshooting I need to have the suspension setup to take bike whoops at the face were I go. I just want an axle that is not going to break... I think I found a good one for 200$ bucks that will do what I want. Thanks for the replies
race-a-holic
I agree that this quad will probably be horrible when jumping. Also might should consider the shocks. If you're running stockers, they weren't designed for that much added weight.I'd also agree to stay away from the spacers. KaosBanshee44
Damn how wide do you want this thing +4 over stock arms and still wanting to get spacers? The lonestar axel is a bad ass axel but it's short so like you said you wouldn't want it but it is the best and comes with lifetime warranty. Do you have any pictures of the bike?
