RagunCajun
rider rider rider..... Are you holding the gas WOT or close to it and slipping the clutch to shift? that's make a noticable different cuz you say on the rpms. Your port job might not be that good though. I raced many 450r's but i cant tell you the mods they had cuz i dont really ask much. One i race was supposed to be cammed but i got him on top. I fail at the "C" part dajo mentioned though haha. All in all it's not big deal to loose against any bike. Just enjoy your bike and keep it running reliable. Guys let me tell you he's talking smack, he does not give himself enough credit, he CAN ride alot better that what he is leading you all to think. ( sorry dude I had to ) Ha ha !! (hope ya still gonna hook up my sig) And on to the 450R I run with a friends bone stock one and can beat him all day long, and to be honest I'm really not that impressed with it for what he paid for it off the showroom floor. I'm sure some good mods can wake it up but still I'm really just not impressed with the bike. JMO
STINKYDELUXE
all I can say is, if he is your friend race him on his quad and when your banshee goes flying by you know the problem is your skills
race-a-holic
Yeah something is wrong. One of my friends has a banshee with a F.A.S.T. dune port with stock stroke and still 'stock' carbs and it is awesome. It would take a very serious 450 honda to run with it.Might have just got a bad port job with your's but there is alot more to being fast other than just h.p. Traction,gearing,jetting,etc... Just because it's fresh, you might still go ahead and do a compression check to try and see if something is wrong. What's your jetting, needle clip position,etc.... Are you still using the airbox? The larger carbs should help it once jetted right.
pabansheematt
I here you guys on here all the time talking about how you waxed a 450r. But my friend has one and I have the mods listed below. I can't keep up with him. He gets me out of the hole and I don't pull him any. I know that hrc kit wakes them up but I thought we were suppose to come back on the top end. Now in the sand with my pro wedges and them with there sand sharks I eat them up because the tires swell and I get more topend but is there something I'm missing or is these just the nature of the beast. In a drag race you should be winning. just this past weekend I beat the new KTM 525 like it was standing still. you should pass that HONDA. keep trying till you do. Wildcardracing
I've got a ridin budy who has an 06 450R with the HRC kit on it, next time I go to LS I'll see if he can hang!! :yelrotflmao: I should have my CPI's by then too, he shouldn't be any problem. I know my brothers modded yfz can't keep up in a straight drag or hill shoot, I'll be damned if I can keep up through the whoops though, lol. banshee_boy09
I would think you should beat him, My banshee has cpi inframes, stock air box ( pro flow adapter with lid on), 66mm prolites, cool head with 22cc domes, no porting, stock reeds, and the carbs arnt right...it cuts out when trying to top it out sometimes..and tends to bog bad if you dont rev it out pretty far before shifting..and my clutch plates are pretty much smoked, I have 19in mxr4 rear tires with 13/41 gearing,..and my friend has an 07 yfz450 with a yoshimura pipe, and dyno jet kit on it....and when dragging on dirt/grass ....both getting pretty good traction, I can always pull atleast 2-3 lengths on him, and if im not mistaken he has 15/38 gearing with 20in rear tires. Race him again with the new mods and let us know what happens! haha
blubeast
Well a buddy of mine has a 450r with pipes, filter, and a couple more mods(not sure of the details). I have a 8 year old banshee that has never been rerung(yes I know this is not good, but hey when it blows i have a excuse to rebuild). He would get me outta the whole, but once into second i pulled him and there was no chance for him, everytime. Sooo, something isn't ticking right in your bike. This was on a actual quarter mile dragstip as well...heheh

Whats up with the nee KTM525, are they supposed to be fast machines or what. You are also riding a monster, so I hope you spanked it.. There was a group of like 4 of them yesterday where I was but, they were just crusing, so i really did get to see much..
