Banshee against Honda 450r w/HRC kit

I here you guys on here all the time talking about how you waxed a 450r. But my friend has one and I have the mods listed below. I can't keep up with him. He gets me out of the hole and I don't pull him any. I know that hrc kit wakes them up but I thought we were suppose to come back on the top end. Now in the sand with my pro wedges and them with there sand sharks I eat them up because the tires swell and I get more topend but is there something I'm missing or is these just the nature of the beast.

what do you weigh? is the rider on the 450 lighter ? are you getting traction ? lots of those are factors and who gets the hole shot a 450 is fast but no (real) fast

I am 5'11" 205lbs all muscle :down: I get good traction out of the hole, and we are even. Then after the end of 2nd gear he starts to go byebye...and more byebye. Now the stock 450r's yea they are road kill. But the 4 guys I ride with have the hrc kit. Now with that said the last time I raced them before the pj34's and the timing plate. When I raced them I had stock carbs and stock timing.

i race my buddies 450r's all the time

theyre mods include

 

filter w/no lid

full exhaust

cdi box

& a stage 2 hot cam..

 

we're pretty much even up comp hill..

 

i havent gotten a good race on the straight...but i dout they'll pull on my top end...

 

hows your compression???...

I just got this motor rebuilt so the compression should be good. Yea the 450r's that I raced have full exhaust, hrc kit, wideslide carb, and cdi box. Are there any upgrade cdi boxes for the banshee?(other than the pvl system that is hella expensive) I heard of something called a roost boost does it work. But if you are beating them with your mods, I should also right?

Something isnt right here, If 1.6 is beating his boys on there 450's you should be as well..

You have some slight porting and bigger carbs which he does not.. Even though shee was just rebuilt you should still check the compression, make sure everything is okay in there..

get ouy there and race em with your new mods and keep us posted, I have ridden both stock and a slightly modded 450's, you should be there with them if not ahead...

Roost boost, garbage...you don't want to get into PVL. adjust your timing via the plate.

4 pokes need boxes to raise the rev limiter, two strokes don't have limiters via the ignition.

 

If your motor is ported, 1 of 3 things is the problem here:

 

a. Whoever ported it can't port shit

b. The bike is out of serious tune (you said it's fresh...so worn out should be ruled out)

c. You can't ride ...

 

A mildly ported shee in good tune, fresher motor that can get traction with a decent rider should beat an HRC 'quipped 450R.

If your bike was bolt on only, I'd say this is about par....

Since the motor is fresh and I'm not the best rider in the world but I can hold my own. I'm just new to banshee's. How do I check the portwork? I will also say the topend wasn't fresh when i raced them. Since the last time I raced them I have added the timing plate, pj34's, and the prolite pistons. I hpoe this makes difference. Do you think the dual pj 34's arre too much carb for my mods.

I think they should compliment your motor fine...however, to be honest, I have no Easy way of telling you how much porting is done.

You can tell what surfaces have been touched, but you'd actually have to measure size and shapes of ports, port timing in relation to piston travel, etc. to find out how much has actually been done.

 

Problem is with porting, if you don't know what you're doing, you can very easily be worse off than no porting at all....

do you short shift? i did that alot with my blaster, i was used to my quick gears in my CR80, try winding the gears out a little more and sport shift, im bout to wax my buddys stock 450r which he claims is going to beat my banshee, also him and his dad are trying to say there polaris sportsman 800 is going to beat my banshee, NO WAY IN HELL. lmao

yep, i agree... im not going to comment on this because ive done my fare share of killing shit, some right some wrong. but !!! i chalk it up to being young and dumb !!! i hate seeing people lose there jobs or have a record over stupid stuff,been there my self..... get a damn good lawyer.. only thing that kept me from a felony. but.. young and dumb , i ve grown up alot !!! they hate are quads, guns , sex before marriage , hunting. shut the fuck up !! get a life... actually , go out and enjoy life !!!

u said that u raced before the fresh topend, timing and carbs?? well if the top end was almost shot theres yor problem.. also u may not have the carbs tuned in good enough, if u are running too rich u are gonna lose power.. get this, i have a buddy that race a yfz450, his banshee only has trinity pipes, +4 timing, and a fresh top end.. (his bike still has a stock head, reeds, and carbs) and he can beat yfz450's.. you might also wanna try a modded shift star or the shift pro kit,( i use them both together) if shifting is your problem.. if u are shifting too fast gear it up some..
