wacko2000
wacko you sure your not lean on the needle? if you had all the work done and didnt change anything id think your leanis it the 1 1/4 to 1 3/4 throttle position? Can you be more specific.. I dont really understand that.. " If you had all that work done and didnt change anything"? Before i sent my motor out it was completlel stock, stock bore with T5's and v-force reeds 310 main 25pilot needle in the middle.. Now 350 main 30pilot needle in the middle 2 turns on the air screw
wesw
you might try the 27.5. but i think you should have your needle 4th, 5th clip
dajogejr
Put the stock pilots back in (25s) put your air screws at 1 turn out...
moneybags
Try drop needle one clip. Then try ajusting the air screw. If that makes it worse, rase the needle clip up one. See what that will do.
wacko2000
you might try the 27.5. but i think you should have your needle 4th, 5th clip making it richer or leaner.. Is the 30 pilot to fat for me? how does the air screw affect the bike? whether it .5 or 2 turns out?
moneybags
The air screw plays a big role in the first 1/3 of the throttle. It can make a huge differents in how a bike will take off.
wacko2000
So having the air screw out to far allowing to much air will cause it to bog or break up alittle.. I think maybe I should start with some small adjusting of the air screw.. I will start at .5 out and work from there. thanks
moneybags
Dont go out past 2 1/2 turns. If you need to go out more then 2 1/2 turns. You will need the next size smaller pilot jet.
dajogejr
Call Jim at Passion and see what he recommends. He will know better than anyone where his motor likes fuel. The pilot jet and air screw work together. The pilot jet allows fuel into the low speed circuit, the air screw is adjusted to mix air with that fuel supplied by the pilot jet. Pilot air screw effect idle to just past 1/8 throttle....that's it. I think 30 pilot is too big for a motor still running an airbox, but....if the Passion motor likes a TON of fuel at lower RPMs, then it could be ok. I think it's too rich off idle, by the time it gets to the needle (past 1/8 throttle) it is still cleaning itself out. Once you get into higher gears/RPMs it is cleaned up and starts to pull.... PLEASE, only adjust one circuit at a time, pilot/air screw, needle or main. Changing multiple circuits at the same time will only complicate things. Start by putting a stock pilot in there at turning the air screw out 1.0 turns. Usually too much fuel causes a bog. When it's lean, it'll "surge" or raise the RPM, it'll sound like it wants to rev but no power.... Tell you what, there's a couple great jetting thread how to's for stickys at the top of this forum. Read them, twice....they could probably answer all of your questions and guide you best.
