Steering stabilizer

Dampener, stabilizer, whatever you call them. Thinking of putting one on. After a long day of riding, my hands and arms are shot. Which one should I get? Thanks.

Almost all of them use the same type of design, the PEP being the exception because of the mounting brackets. The only real difference to consider is whether you want a rebuildable or non-rebuildable. A rebuild kit will run you $20 when it wears out, when the non-rebuildable wears out you just buy another I guess. There's about a $30-40 price difference between the two. The cheapest I've seen recently are the Streamline Billetanium ones. Like I stated before, most are so similar that I would pick based on price. Gibson, SRP, Denton, Streamline, etc are all good and you'll notice a difference when you ride regardless of which you choose. JMO

Hey washburn, which model are you looking at on that page? Will they all work on an ATV, or do you have to make mods. It looks like they are designed for a bike. Sorry if these are basic ?s I dont know anything about these things. thanks

No I actualy dont know to much about them myself other than every guy I see with a modded 400ex or 450 has the GPR V1 Stabilizer.

and they preform better than any other one I have run.I asked my guy about them and he said they make them for the banshee for 350.00. I never seen the GPR V4 Dirt Stabilizer mabey they are new but thats what Im looking at. Ill let you know next time I talk to him for sure.

Rockymountainatv..........7 position $144.00, rebuildable

Yeah they are about junk. Ide rather have my stock steering stem or a LSR Chromoly one. Fasst Flexx Bars if you want to stop the up down affect along with a steering stabilizer. prescion steering stabilizer AT Rockymountain Costs 500.00. I still like the GPRs better because they adjust on the fly 8 clicks H-S.

I forgot to ask my guy more about them because Im having trouble with my Elka rear end setup and its frustrating. Look like Ill be going with Custom Axis HI/LO Comp and rebound adjustments but they are pretty damn expensive.

I've been looking at those too. They used to have the ATV ones listed on thier page but they changed it a while ago. The V1 is the only one that fits atv's as far as I know (bolt on). You also need to use an anti-vibe steering stem, they wont fit a stock stem. You also need to use 1 1/8 fat bars with them. Lastly and this is the bad part when they had the prices listed the Banshhe one was $495.00 plus $79.00 for the bars to go with it. That's why I haven't got one yet  . The ones for bikes are $350-400 but the quads need more mounting hardware. If you can find them for $350.00 though let me know cause I'll take one for sure.

Scotts/Ohlins are pretty well the same thing as the GPR's. They are a little cheaper though at $450.00. However they use the stock steering stem and bars, so if you don't allready have an anti-vibe they are way cheaper.

I've Got a Pep one and it works well A little trickey to mount at First so it dose'nt contact anything or bind but It was the only specific one for the Banshee that used a sensible Mounting System. I Tried Using a Univesal Denton one but It had a Very Crappy mounting System. Worth the Money Though! The Elka Is Primo and If I Could see one Specific for the Banshee I'd Buy it.
