DUNER12
I COULD REALLY USE SOME GOOD ADVISE. WHAT DO I DO NEXT, TO MAKE MY BIKE A BETTER 50/50 BIKE. AS A DUNER MY BIKE SEEMS TO BE GREAT,NO COMPLAINTS. BUT NEED A LITTLE MORE AT COMP HILL. I BEEN THINKING OF PUTTING A DUNE PORT ON BUT KNOW VERY LITTLE ABOUT IT. CAN I STILL STAY ON PUMP GAS?RELIABILITY? THATS WHAT I DONT WANT TO COMPROMISE. OR IS THERE SOMETHING ELSE I SHOULD DO? ANY SUGGESTIONS WOULD BUT GREAT. DUNER12
Sorry for some reason its not listing my bike, I have an 06 Banshee, coolhead 20cc,Toomey t-5s,V force reeds,K&N with airbox lid removed,20x10x10-9s haulers. Ran a set of 20x10x8-8s which did help.
moneybags
Yep, Get your self some Port wort Timing plate, Set to +4. Carbs Then you will have a bad ass ride. From their work on getting some +2+1 a-arme and good shocks. Makes it ride like a caddy.
DUNER12
Will still be ok with pump gas?
moneybags
Should be fine. Depending on how the port work is done. It can auctly lower compression. Talk to the person doing the port work. For your next question. Who does good port work. Fast racing K&T A&S passion racing Herr jugs??? D&M Dave more nate macoy In no specal order. Best to have it done right the first time. Dont mess with Homo Jo.
dajogejr
Will still be ok with pump gas? Porting won't decide the need for race fuel or higher octane...compression and timing will. And compression usually dictates the need for higher octane more so than timing, unless it's an extreme amount of timing. get a pair of 30mm or 33 mm carbs and a dune port....you'll be riding a whole new bike, promise. Don't go larger than 33 unless you get really aggressive porting and want to drag race more than dune/trail the bike. 34PJs would actually be a good carb, too. DUNER12
Both you guys talked about aftermarket carbs.Whats the deal with the stock carbs? Are they junk? Edited December 1, 2007 by DUNER12
Coupelx
Both you guys talked about aftermarket carbs.Whats the deal with the stock carbs? Are they junk? no they are just small, 26mm. I run 28's with just bolt ons and have been advised to think of 30's when i get it ported. no more caps please!!!!! i couldnt even read your original posts  made me crosseyed. Wildcardracing
Both you guys talked about aftermarket carbs.Whats the deal with the stock carbs? Are they junk? 27.5mm is the limit that the stock carbs can be bored to, it would cost @ $90 to have them taper-bored which in my opinion is more sensible than spendin $250+ on 28's. I have decidecd to go with the 32mm mikuni TM's because they are the same body as the 34's and can be bored to 35.5 if I ever wanted larger carbs and they are a little less than the PWK's. Flatslides do have a noticeable power increase over the older style (stock) round slide carbs because they don't restrict the air as much

I wouldnt suggest just running your timing at 4 unless you know what fuel, how drag style porting you want to go and so on..
DUNER12
i think im going to take your advise and order the timming plate. out of all my buddies running banshees no one is running timming plates so that i could see the difference between mine and theirs. but you guys on here sure seem to make it sound like its a no brainer and well worth the money.
