Coupelx
i am putting a yfz style parking brake lever on my banshee instead of the pain-in-the-ass-never-works one that is on there(yes i really do use it, we have lots of hills). The only hurdle that i am facing is, do the parking brake cables on both bikes mount in a similar fashion with the spring 'thing' and cable end roughly the same length? do they look like they will interchange? This is assuming that i have to run the yfz parking brake cable as i think the banshee one is different.
Coupelx
banshee caliper Yfz450 caliper http://img.auctiva.com/imgdata/2/8/6/6/1/6.../81253882_o.jpg (pic is big) i think the yfz cable will hoob right up! what do you guys think? the yfz caliper seems to have a bit more distance between the lever and the mount. this could easily be adjusted out if necessary but i dont see it being a real problem Edited November 16, 2007 by Coupelx
Hilarious
I have thought about doing something like this before. I dont have a 450 but, I do have a 700 craptor and I believe the 450 and 700 have the same rear brake caliper and hardware. You may have to wind up swapping the caliper and all hardware, if thats even possible. I know my shop manual says something about the rear caliper and parking brake being "self adjusting" and the banshee rear brake isnt. Go for it and let us know how or if this will work. I love the parking brake on the new 700's.
locogato11283
im about 97% sure it will work. the block off plate for either is the same if i recall so im betting they will interchange.
