THE358BANSH Posted November 12, 2007 Report Share Posted November 12, 2007 Well guys, I have got my housing built to accept an eccentric carrier, and I think it turned out quite well. It started out as .250" wall, 3.75"OD 4130 chro-moly tube. I had to bore the inner diameter to 3.405" for a 5 thousandths slip fit, then used the rotary indexer on the Bridgeport to cut the clamping reliefs. I am trying to decide on how long I should make the arm. I know that you usually go shorter for trails, which I ride in the summer. During the winter we're out on the lake with bolted tires, when I could see that having a longer duning style swinger would help. THE358BANSH Posted November 12, 2007 Author Report Share Posted November 12, 2007 (edited) I guess nothing special, compared to alot of guys around here, 4mil hotrods crank, 795 wisecos, coolhead yet to be cut for the stroker, vf2 reeds, with a single 35 as of right now. I don't know of I want to stay with the single carb as for right now, or even if it will be enough? Oh, and can you see the pictures? dajogejr Posted November 12, 2007 Report Share Posted November 12, 2007 You're gonna get it ported for the stroker, right?? +4 is my guess...gonna want longer and/or a wheelie bar if you're putting chisels in the tires for ice. burleybanshee Posted November 12, 2007 Report Share Posted November 12, 2007 I don't know about running on ice, my thinking is you will hookup quite a bit from pictures i've seen of ice tires with those nasty looking screws in them. I know mine with relatively same engine in dunes with paddles still wheelies with a +4. You can still ride a plus 4 around it takes little more throttle control and weight shifting to get the ass end around like a stock length, but it is do-able. Had a +6 on, big difference, lost a lot of all round riding, bigger pain in the ass. +2 to +4. Quote Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

I run a +4" arm on my red bike and it is completely duneable (including tight trails) and jumpable. fasstbanshee Posted December 1, 2007 Report Share Posted December 1, 2007 it can depend on your riding terrain/style what you want for lenght. if you are pulling into a wheelie than you need to extend it, if not then shorten it. it is usually better to shorten it for the woods. i am running a stock lengh swing arm and have no problems, personally i would like to go -1 on my swinger but i would have to change my rear shock and link and that would cost to much$$ Quote Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
