atvfreestylekid
I got a flywheel puller but it wont thread on. I've looked at 4 or 5 different tools for the shee and all have the same threads as mine. So I got the right one. I've oiled the shit out of the tool and flywheel but no luck. How can I tell if it is the stock flywheel? I've got to get this thing running. It's the only fucking friend I have  . Thanks -Josh

What i recommend is using some modeling clay to press into the threads of the flywheel if you do not have a tight enough thread pitch gage. After you make a positive of the threads, you can check that against the puller. I would bet you have the right puller buy some jacked threads. Be damn careful. ClimbAnyHill
Might sound dumb but did you remove the nut holding the flywheel in place?

atvfreestylekid
Never mind guys. Sorry to waist your time. It turns out the threads on the flywheel are fucked. Just like me. I have run out of money to put into this. I already had to buy a new crank. Still have to buy pistons, gasket kit, have the cylinders bored and now a damn flywheel. I don't see how you gus afford this shit. Oh well, I guess I can make up an imaginary friend to talk to. I have nothing/nobody else to do anything with. atvfreestylekid
Any ideas on getting this piece of shit off?
Handyman
I had to use a big pry bar on my roomies 660 flywheel. Just be careful and don't put too much pressure on it and crack the case. I gently worked my way around the flywheel and after about an hour gentle persuation it came off. See if you can't get a tap and dye set and clean the threads of the flywheel....

Most of the awesome looking bikes you see on here didn't get like that over night..the owners took some time to get them like that because we aren't all made of money...Little by little and a lot of patience... 2strokespirit
Be patient, Rome wasnt built in a day. Me as well have a list of things I want to buy for my bike, but I have to save money for everything I want to buy and it take months, even a year or so. If its harder to get something you will appreciate it much more. Good Luck Edited November 10, 2007 by 2strokespirit
dajogejr
Two ways, and either way the flywheel is trashed. weld the puller onto the flywheel, or use a 3 jaw puller. either way, the flywheel is trashed...
Coupelx
dajogejr has it right, that or take it to a machine shop and hope for the best. Mine is fucked up pretty good too. gotta get it off this winter :ermm:

Also, the thread might be stripped as they are a left hand thread and people are retarded.................. :geek:
Bancheez
If you have a new crank to put in, have one of your imaginary friends put some pressure on the back of the flywheel with a prybar and rap the end of the crank with a hammer. It will eventually pop off like this, however, if you plan on reusing the crank, i wouldn't recomend trying this. You can very easily move a crank out of spec by smacking the end of it. BellicoseBanshee
Also, the thread might be stripped as they are a left hand thread and people are retarded.................. :geek: Gee, does that mean I turn it with my left hand... :yelrotflmao: ...I know, that is bad! However, you just know that someone, somewhere will think that. It is kind of like sending the new guy around the engine shop for Moly-B (molybdenum disulfide thread compound) and K9-P. You would be surprised how many walk around looking for K9-P...
