Handyman
he says his bikes overheating from the little line on the top left of the rad... all new gaskut kit on the top end... what eles can it be? Improper Jetting(lean) will cause overheating... make sure the coolant fluid is good to go and check to make sure the impeller isn't screwed....make sure anything that is involved with the cooling system is good to go and there isn't anything wrong.. wacko2000
First i wanna know if you have any pics from riding yesterday and how was it? Yesterday I was doing some searching about the radiator and the overflow bottle and I came across acouple thread about that problem you boy is having, It seem pretty popular for our shee's also pretty normale when shee real hot. My bike has also done that a few times, it goes all over the pipes and shit... Thats good to no if The cause of it, would be the shee running lean.... brugal
Did the temp change in N.Y.C if so you might need to run a different spark plug.If the plugs are on to tight it can cause overheating. Also, their could be an engine air leak which would cause overheating to.Hope this helps.. RoostRocket
if you guys were riding some tight trails it could be that. when i had mine in some tight trails with the jetting spot on it would still overheat because not enough air is passing through the radiator.

RIPRuck
Check and make sure the plastic gear that attaches to the water pump impeller is still intact. That gear meshes with the outter gear attached to the crank, so if you just take off the water pump cover and somehow crank the motor the impeller should spin. If it doesnt than the plastic gear is shot and you would have to remove the clutch cover to get to it.
Animalman294
Yeah, you need to have him check the plugs and make sure that it is jetted right. Then take the clutch cover off and check the impellar, the drive gear, hoses, the radiator cap itself, good coolant. If that all checks out then look at the way that he is riding, WOT and spinning the tires doesn't move too much air through the radiator. The next thing I would do is get a NOSS or Cool head for 250 or so and put it on yourself. These increase the coolant volume by increasing the area where the coolant flows and they also change the flow path to help in cooling.............
