bonzai272
Ive found a couple threads somewhat related to this but tell me what you think of this: Ive got a Ram 1500 std bed. I drain the fuel from the tank then run the bike til it runs out of fuel (to get it out of the carbs). I roll my banshee forward into the bed and put it upright resting on back tires and grab rail. I tie down the crap out of it somehow (any ideas?). I roll my friends Predator forward into the bed behind it, leaving it on all 4s. Tie it down and leave the tailgate down. Good to go for 4 hours to Glamis. Pull my banshee out, add fuel, hit throttle a few times to get gas to carbs, fire it up. Sound like itll work? Thanks for input guys. I really want to avoid having to take 2 seperate trucks. Also, would this have any difference if it was a 4 stroke being moved upright? concerned about oil getting somewhere it doesnt belong. XxMeltIcexX
The Oil in the crankcase leaks out the back of the case, i guess you could plug it? Been there done that and the bottom line is its a pain in the ass. Get a trailer....
Bansh-eman
I'm not a fan of standing them up like that. Alot of poeple do it but its not the best way to trasnport your bike. like ice said get a trailer
dajogejr
Drain the tranny.... Put that POS Predaturd on it's grab bar behind your bike on all 4s, that way....if it falls off the back of the truck, it's a predaturd, the value of your vehicle went up....and it serves as a safety net for your banshee... Yeah, gotta do what you gotta do to ride, but a two piece snowmobile or utility trailer to make it so much easier...
bonzai272
Thanks for the input guys. I was leaning more towards not doing this anyway. it seems like a pain in the ass and Id rather leave mine on all 4s (when hauling it hehe). Anybody have any experience with a simple utility trailer like this one from Harbor Freight? Itll hold a quad and maybe some gear and its only $209....just add plywood. The put the other quad in the bed. http://www.harborfreight.com/cpi/ctaf/disp...temnumber=42709
dajogejr
Put the "turd" on the trailer, the shee rides shotgun....LOL. Never seen the trailer, you get what you pay for...just remember that!
Bansh-eman
yea the guy i rode with last year had one similar to it and we put his quad on there and mine in my truck... pulled fine.
zach45
we fit 3 banshees on a 8footbed before..
Duneman101
instead of putting on up on it's A$$, turn it side ways so that the front tires sit on the bed rail (make sure to put some towels or something so you don't scratch it all up or get a diamond plate bed rail cap.) then you can either put the predator in facing the opposite direction or you can just leave the tail gate down and let it ride on all four. this works in my ford bed with a 250r and a shee, so it should work with a predator and a shee... it takes some muscle though... a trailor is a good idea too.... Toybreaker
I have put 2 bikes upright in my Nissan short bed to go to glamis before. An old LT250r and a banshee. Worked fine. Just tie it down 4 corners at the front of the bike to the tie down hooks in the bed. Trailers work much better though.
kb247
Before buying a cheap trailer, or trying to stand one up or put one sideways, go rent a u-haul (or equvilant) trailer it's only like 50 bucks or so for a weekend put one bike and all your gear in the trailer and one bike in back of truck and problem solved! I've done it for a long trip and it worked great, split the cost of the trailer and split the cost of the gas, works out cheaper for both of you. awfulsailor
Never been a problem for me. My bikes spend 99% of the time on thier ass. Dont want or have the money for a toy hauler. With my long bed Ford we can transport 2 adult quads and 2 kids quads.
