So i put in a pro design adjustable timing plate and when i was done i put it all back together and i have no front lights, but the tail lights work. I am not very good with motors and certainly not with electrical, what happend can the timing plate have anything to do with lights or did i just mess something else up while i was working on it? Thanks for any help

Are you sure the headlights worked when you took it apart? Are the headlight bulbs ok? Is the voltage regulator plugged in? Does the light switch feel abnormal at all when sliding it?

Yeah they worked fine and the light switch feels fine....i checked all the connections on the bike they seem to be alright, i think i am just going to have to go through the whole wiring harness to find the short because all i can think of is that i washed the bike and maybe shorted somehting out after changing the timing plate.

Many times, the tail light will not blow due to higher resistance. Check voltage at yellow wire from stator at idle and 4-5K rpms and go from there. Sounds like your problems are not at the stator but somewhere else.

Yeah, see if you have power at the yellow wire. Then check the input to the switch, then check the output of the switch. If you had a short, it would probably melt the harness. It sounds like you have high resistance or an open somewhere.
