fishwater
I have a set of Kenda Klaw XCF's in the front & Knarley HT in the rear. I am thinking of replacing them with 23's & 22's for better clearance. Everyone raves about the Razr II's but are they worth the $20-$30 more per tire? Are they really that great? So far I love the Kenda's but figure if I am going to replace them I will go with the Razr if it is that much of an upgrade. I ride in New England, our trails are rocks, dirt, mud & sand. In other words everything but with more rocks!
Michael Jackson
whatever you do, DO NOT get 23 inch tires on a sport quad, haha, even 22's are huge on the back... my razr 2's hooked up pretty dam good, and lasted awesome, very tough, had liek 2-3 plugs total after 2 years of hard riding... there are tires out there that will hook up better, but the razr 2's are an aweesome trail tire, they last long, slide well, and hook up good, i have never rode the knarleys myself p ersonaly, but ive seen a friend get so many holes in them within 5 rides or so, he had to buy a new back one it was so full of holes, so after buying 3, he endedup throwin them away anyway, just kept poppin holes in them
fishwater
I really need the clearance around here though, the trails are just filled with rocks. I live in the Granite State, literally! I figure if I drop down a tooth on my front sprocket I will be fine.
ellison445
Both are great tires but the Razr II are much better than the knarlys.. I have ran both!!
fishwater
Both are great tires but the Razr II are much better than the knarlys.. I have ran both!! How & why are they better? I think I am going to go for your Quad-Roks with Razr II's or Kenda's. How are the Razr's better? Do they handle better, grip better, wear better or what? chevy7398
i saw a set off razr 2s at the store the other day and they have some massive lugs on them, looked like they would hook up very well
Michael Jackson
if clearance is a big issue, get some 22's, they will be heavy and hurt your handling a bit, but its trail riding , so oh well, big deal, but like you said, a 13t will make up for some of that,
Infamous039
Razr II's all day baby
jmd0346
Ive had Razors and razor 2's and I cant say enough about them. Great tire IMO. They wear good and hook very well. Ive never had the Kendas but cant imagine them being any better than the razors. Plus I only paid $297 shipped for the razor 2's. All four. Thats hard to beat. locogato11283
Both are great tires but the Razr II are much better than the knarlys.. I have ran both!! there is no way!! razr 2 are more expensive and they are heavier. and ill guarantee they dont wear as good as knarlys do. the best 2 dirt tires out there when it comes to price, durability and traction ar the kenda knarly and the stock rear yfz450 tires.. fishwater
I have the Knarleys in the rear & Klaws on the front, they seem like awesome tires but this is my first four wheeler. I have had dirtbikes before so I am not used to quads. It seems like non one can give me a real reason why they are better which is kind of odd. I could save myself some money to put towards the Hipers if I stuck with the Kenda's.
Meat
Razr II's are too damn heavy and not as sporty as most tires. The vast majority of XC racers race with the original Razr rear tires and Razr II's for the fronts. XC racing is basically trail racing, so these guys know whats best for agressive racing type action. The Holeshot GNCC tire is another good one and so is the Kenda Knarley XC you asked about. The Razr II's on the rear would be good if your looking for major straight-forward traction. The lugs are so tall and heavy and agressive on the Razr II's they won't allow the quad to slide around as much as the other sport tires iv mentioned. When the XC racers race a mud race.... they still don't use the Razr II's, the preferred tire for a mud-hole infested race is the I-razrs. I'd get the Knarley XC over the Razr II. Hilarious
I have the Knarleys in the rear & Klaws on the front, they seem like awesome tires but this is my first four wheeler. I have the kenda klaws on the front also and they are awesome. They track well and have lasted a long time also. Razr II's are too damn heavy and not as sporty as most tires. I have to agree. They are really heavy but, I like them better than the holeshots and fast trekkers that I have had. They have worn better too. They are a good trail tire tho.
