coopershee
Hows it goin guys..i just got my cylinders bored one over stock and ported my engine..I was planning on getting carbs pretty soon and I was wondering what size I should get..I was planning on going with a 2 into 1 35PWK but ive heard stories about the top end dropping..so i changed to a 38 but I called trinity and the guy said to run dual 35's..Im not sure what I should do or whats best for my bike..I ride GLamis 90% of the time and hit the track about 10-15 times a season..any ideas anyone? My other question is timing..I hear people running +4 advanced and everything but I have no idea what that would do..Ive done it on my boat but never on my quad..I thought about advancing it cause my bike doesnt have that great of throttle response..would that have to do with my timing?it should right? thanks in advance cooper
shee rips
what carbs work best will depend on what kind of port job you got, i have a feeling that dual 35s will be too big unless you have a drag port. im still waiting for a chance to ride my bike since i advanced the timing, so no ride report yet Edited October 16, 2007 by shee rips
coopershee
oo aight..yea let me know how that goes for you bro..do u have to buy a timing plate to do it? i have no idea what kind of port job it is to tell you the truth..my buddy actually ported it and from pictures ive seen of porting it looks like a medium dune port..its like a good clean up not so drastic
96 sandshee
Go with dual 35 pwk's you'll be alot happier with the performance over the 2 into 1. Adjustable timing plate's from ricky stator are $35 and do the same thing as the high dollar billet plate's that cost twice as much
Snopczynski
What pipes are you going to run? That can depend greatly on where your bike revs too. I know for a fact that a 4mill stroker on stock cylinders with ptr mids makes power to 10,500 rpm with or without a 2 into 1 carb and a 35mm pwk. spurdy
I had a mild dune port with trinity stage 4 pipes and ran 35 pwks and hated them (hated trinity as well). They were too big and flooded too much fuel for the port job. Low bottom end but once it came on the pipe it was hellish. Too much like a light switch though. Dropped to 33 pwks and she was a totally different animal. That was a couple of bikes ago. Now running 34 mikuni flatslides and not looking to change. So far happy with them on a mild dune port. Upgrading to 4mil stroker with a play port and current CPIs (winter project) and haven't run the 34s yet with them yet. Hope they run as well but will go bigger if needed.
