Ultimateduner
Last year I bought a +4 swingarm for my banshee and ever since then I've had nothing but problems with the chain. I adjust it almost every trip, not because its a "little loose", but because its practically hanging of the sprocket.(In one season I had to take out 2 links, on seperate occasions, due to stretching) I make sure I adjust it so that it has an inch or so play when I'm not on it, and its fairly tight when I am on it.(Correct?) I only use my banshee in the sand. The chain I have now (I can't remember brand, all I now its not an o-ring and its gold) is the "best" chain for banshees (As said by Trinity racing) What am I doing wrong? Ricehater
You should add a boost bottle to your setup

Ultimateduner
anyone think he should buy a new chain??? duh.... !!!!! Look the chain is relativly new (like 4 trips on it), I am asking how to stop it form stretching if you don't have ideas to contribute (other than the obvious) stop posting. JdiZzla
well if the boost bottle doesnt do it try getting an o-ring chain, maybe it wont wear out so much but that sounds a little crazy, you keep up with it that well and it stretched out two links? theres something wrong there... I think the x-ring chains are supposed to stretch the least although i have never run one, and make sure that when you are adjusting your chain that your not making it too tight to begin with. it should be tight when the swingarm is about half way through its pivot. i dont know if this changes that much with a +swinger but just check by siting on the quad and find where the swing arm is farthest from the front sprocket and feel how tight the chain is, if it is really really tight...youre over doing it
Snopczynski
It is normal for a new chain to stretch. If your suspension is super spongy, then it will stretch even more. Dont listen to trinity racing, they are a bunch of douche bags. It sounds like you ride sand, and you dont want an o-ring chain in the sand. shee rips
not trying to start an arguement, but i would think that an o ring chain would last longer in the sand because it keeps the sand out of the chain. i dont ride sand so i dont have much experience with it other than the odd pit that has some sand climbs so
Coupelx
i have a D.I.D racing chain and it seems to stretch alot too. its a non-oring

I use a X-ring in the sand. They last longer then the non o-ring.
hyperlite33
I put a non-oring chain on my sportbike once and had to adjust it about once a week with normal riding...Since then, I have put x-ring chains on all my bikes (dirt or street) and don't have near the problems. I think I have adjusted my supermotard bike once in 2 years, and that was because of a tire change! Rocky mountain sells 120 link x-ring chains by primary drive for around $58 and I really like them! Bansh88
Your chain is not stretching. I had this exact same problem. Whats happening is your Carrier is slipping and turning your rear sprocket. Unhook your chain and fiddle with your carrier. Try and turn it 180 and see if it will stay in place. Make sure round house is tight. that might be the simplest soolution.
NYUK
a good pre stretched chain will run you about 100 to 125 dollars. regina and tsubaki are all i ever used on my play bike and dragger. they never wore out. spend a little loot on a good chain. The chain I have now (I can't remember brand, all I now its not an o-ring and its gold) is the "best" chain for banshees (As said by Trinity racing) What am I doing wrong? i have always used regina ors series oring chains on all the 250cc up stuff i've had, from old four wheelers to a few cr500s' i used to own, they just don't wear out. after intial couple rides, i'd need to adjust, after that, nothing. if you took your chain off the bike, and layed flat on ground, see how far it can bend. that might give you an idea of how shot the thing is. what do your sprockets look like?? like that other guy said, your housing could be moving on you?? had a suzuki LT230s when i was younger, that was its' problem. it took me breaking like 3 iginition covers before i figured it out! the only thing i ever used non oring chains on were 125cc and smaller bikes. even on all my 125s they needed constant adjustment. guess the worst things you could say about an oring chain is that it does soak up little hp, but on these banshees i don't think that is a big deal. other is they will get stiff if not lubed. always used PJ1 blue label. i think a regina ors6 chain for a one of these banshees with long arm would run close to 100.00, sure you could find cheaper brands out there that have good life span. maybe make a mark on your housing/swingarm, and go ride to see if it really might be moving?? that's how i figured my deal out.?? jbooker82
This will be my next chain I buy. RK GB520EXW. It has 6 sealing points vs the 4 that an x ring has. Right now I just have the standard RK 520XSO chain and it is holding up fine.
