FireHead Posted October 16, 2007 Report Share Posted October 16, 2007 Are any of you guys cutting your one piece cylinder base gasket to accomodate the coolin pockets in the top of the case? I know it might seem like a silly question, but I am inclined to do it. The downside is that it makes the surface area on the gasket awfully thin in a few areas. The upside is that any temperature reduction or normalization near the crank chamber will always make you more power. Yeah, that's what I am talking about. I don't think there is a way to use the rear cavities without machining the base of the cylinders. I think I have decided against doing this as I think the gasket may be more prone to blowing out if I cut it for the previously mentioned purpose. However, I am pretty sure I have done this before on a few other engines where I actually did machine the base of the cylinders and my old triple design made the upper portion of the case wet via a similar manner. :geek: Quote Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

dajogejr Posted October 16, 2007 Report Share Posted October 16, 2007 Since the rears are plugged off on cubs, the only thing I do is cut the base gasket on the bottom of the cub cylinder to match the transfers...and it's very thin in the middle and on the sides...kinda like my hair line.... I just trim them to match the case porting and call it good.
