well today i wos out riding my 2001 YZ 125

it woss a cold rainy day and i woos just out messin arond

well i came down a hill after climbing it wide open about half way down the hill i say my frends so i stopped and wen i stopped the bike wos idling and wos ticking really bad and it died it kicked a little hard and wood not start so me and my friend pushed it down a hill and it started so i woos going to try to ride it home i got about 20 feet and it locked up i gave it about a minuet then tried to kick it it wos hard but still moved so my friend pulled me home wen i got home i called my buddy and he sead that i probable seized it and sead to take the head off it i did then tried to move the piston to the bottom of the cylinder it woos not move at all so i tuck the cylinder off and looked at the crank and rod the crank moved ez but the rod wos not moving from wear it wos at . the top ov the rod wos silver and the bottom wos relay dark brown so that kinda sucks i think it went lean because of the weather and temp change

 

so remeder to cheak your jetting

 

 

what shod i do

i wos thinking of a new crank and rod from hot rods (because a crank and rod is cheaper than just a new rod)

should i stroke it or just leave it stock

and will i need to boor it or just home it

Sure does suck man. Happened to me on my LT250R the kickstarter wouldnt move even if you jumped on it with all your weight.

 

When you sieze it up that bad chances are you scratched you cyl wall pretty good so you will need a bore and hone but if you can get away with just a hone more power to ya.

 

Did you check your crank? it might still be good. The one in my LT is still good after that horrible sieze. But Im not sure if they make stroker cranks for 125s but a hotrods crank and some port work would really make that thing flyyyyyyyy. My cousin ported his CR250 and it will smoke a piped CR500. Food for thought.

 

BTW Im talking to my guy tomorow to order a tie rod and I know he rebuilt a few cr125 motors bottom up this summer Ill ask if he has a spare crank for one.

In addition to checking my jetting, I also like to check my spelling every once in awhile. That way people don't constantly make fun of me (for bad spelling). :biggrin:
