bbruischart
wondering what tire size. mainly height that I need to get my quad to hook and go down the quarter mile. I figure it is a taller tire than stock since I need all the extra gear. Thanks guys. I started dissasembling my quad tonight to start hacking my frame. The longer foot print will give you better traction over a wide tire but if your running the 1/4 it might kill your top end. Truthfully I think it depends on the numbers your motor produces and where its making the good numbers. I would say try every option available to you if given the chance. event if you have the chance to borrow and set, give it a try. You never kow what might work best for you. RagunCajun
I would try to stay away from anything cept radials or slicks. Before i was ported i ran my 19" holeshots and could stand it up on the bar easy taking off. Now after all my engine work, suspension work etc, im not nearly set up good enough to hook up on asphalt. I spin till i hit 4th. Asphalt tears up knobs either way. I tell ya what though, asphalt 1/8 mile races are really fun. I've never tried the 1/4 mile on asphalt but im sure it's awesome. The top speed must be pretty high too. I almost ran out of gear in the 1/8th.....good luck in the 1/4th!
