smartsshee22 Posted September 29, 2007 Report Share Posted September 29, 2007 I was installing the intake manifold for the Trinity 2 into 1 intake and was not sure if it needs a gasket where the manifold to reed connects. The manifold has orings on it and when I put the gasket in there too it just does not look right. I am running VF3 reeds. Thanks in advance. I just want to make sure that there is not going to be any leaks. Also, you said that you used a gasket from the boot to the carb? Do you have that gasket part number or know where to get one because the reed gaskets dont fit on that. I called Trinity and they said run both the gaskets and the orings. Thanks again guys. fernando427 Posted September 29, 2007 Report Share Posted September 29, 2007 i dont remember the part number but its from a yz 250 like a 85 yz 250, ask to talk to someone else at trinity the guy gave me the part number, i know its a yz250 carb boot gasket, i called them to order the o rings cuz i bought mine used and thats what they told me to use a gasket so i wouldnt have to order o rings from them. If I do eliminate the orings, do you think that I will have any issues with air leaks from the ring grooves or will the gaskets take up the slack? Gaskets, reedcages, gaskets, then manifold, o-ring, then rubber carb boot. Do not use sealers, there is no need. Thanks Snopczynski and Sredish...I just finished it all up. My intake has o-rings on the inner flanges that mount to the reed cages and the flange where the carb boot to manifold goes. I took the orings out for the inner flanges and just used the gaskets because when I used both I was not getting a good seal at all. I did keep the oring for the carb boot to manifold in though with no gasket as that seemed to seat just fine. Here are some pictures of the completed install.
