Ricehater
I just got a set of used haulers 21x12x8 on douglas .125 and as i was moving them around the garage i noticed how much lighter they are than my old sand stars..... the haulers are a much larger tire and like half the weight!!!!!!! bansheefreak
yep haulers are made from a tire carcass and paddles added on.. the sand stars are a molded tire alot more rubber on them .. this would be why haulers are the prefered tire.. sredish
sand stars - heavy boat anchors, lots of spin haulers - nice, lighter tire with good traction padla brats - ultimate tire in comp cut or play cut. killer traction and hook up, killer duneability. Snopczynski
who has a pic of padla brats?
locogato11283
haulers are more for straight line and dragging. lower tire weight make it easier for bikes to turn them since they grip so much better. sand stars are for turning and all that. no need for them to be super light. RoostRocket
i think sand stars are better 4 poke duner tires than haulers. but for a shee haulers are awesome all around great duner tires.
Snopczynski
There is no need at all to own a set of sand stars. Haulers will hook up way better and turn just as good. I have one of those friends who thought that the sand stars were the best possible tire for his 450r. Well that was before he watched a kfx450 walk all over him with a set of haulers. Now he is convinced us Banshee guys did know what we were talking about when we told him not to waste his money on molded v paddle tires. Snopczynski
I just tgot off the phone with sand tires unlimited and pelican sandsports. The padla brat they recommended for my bike was an 18 paddle 21x12x8 on 8"Dx10"w rim. Said he would cut about a 1/3 of the paddles at the ends and middle to stagger them. I am kind of interested in this tire now. I am gonna have to talk my best friend in to trying a set out on the drag bike. The guy I talked to said the paddles were comparable to the skat trak extremes. Edited September 28, 2007 by Snopczynski

BellicoseBanshee
I use 21X11X8 8-paddle Haulers and and 21X11X8 8-paddle Edge, and the Edge turn and slide easier for me. I do prefer the Haulers, though.
Snopczynski
The 450r couldn't make it out of the holes that the kfx450 was going up. Every duner with v paddles buys them cause most of the time they are misinformed or the paddles are cheap. They stroll around the bike shop when they get done financing their machine and see those v-paddles in the parts department. Then they go "Golly gee willickers betty, its sand tires! We better get some of those and put them on the Yamaha card!" Call me crazy, but my Banshee can do everything that guy with 450r can do, and then some more that he cant think about doing. I have run the v-paddles back in the day when I started riding sand, and that whole turning thing is bull$hit!
