xsinnerx
Round 1...ding ding ding... Everyone and their brother is going to say T5...because you'll want to get it ported someday. Yet 98% of those people never rode a ported bike with T6 pipes, guarantee... When i bought my shee, it had T6 pipes and I'm going to get a dune port on it this winter, from what everyone on this site says, I wont get as much out of the bike with the T6 pipes as I would with the T5 pipes, do you know or does anyone else know how much I will be missing?? My guess would be maybe a very small amount of HP 2 or 3 ??? I dont know , thats just a guess. So for me missing out on a cpl of HP is not worth selling my T6 pipes and buying T5's as I'm not a hard core drag racer, I just like to be able to beat my buddies with their new 450's. bansh-man
You think T5's sound good, you need to hear the DMC 916's! I sold my T5's for the 916's and couldnt be happier with the riding I do. They are both great pipes though.. if your bike is stock the n you need to get the basic upgrades like filter and ur boost bottle otherwise your gonna spend way too much money jetting the bike after putting ur pipes on... since you ride in open fields, i would go with the fmf sst's then bump up your timeing, remove your air box lid,,,, jett it around 280-300 pending on your elevation,,, i have pretty much that setup and im untouchable.... unless of course the drag shee's come out...lol then ur in trouble... the sst will give you tremendous mid to top end power, and when you up your timing, that just adds on to everything... and if you cant get the holseshot, mess with your sprockets, go up a tooth or two..... burleybanshee
Xsinnerx, you go ahead and keep the t6's after porting and a stock port t5 with reeds, air filter, and timing plate with a good rider will go by you. Had t5's went to t6's and it fell on its face with port work. Two other friends had there t5 and ports, switched to t6 and could not run at any rpm. Its not 2 or 3 horse power, everyone that has experienced will tell you. Just fyi. T6 is a great pipe, but not for good port work. If you only do a cleanup job than ya stay with t6's

06BaNsHeE
I always wanted t5s because my friend had a banshee with t5s,+4 timing, and shaved head. Then I got my head shaved +5 timing with my CPIs and My bike would freaking RIP.It was awesome. We would be tie out the whole than I would pull on top and walk away.He was a lighter rider than me also.So I wouldnt count out CPIs either if you look at T5s.BUt I would stay away from both those pipes for your riding.Thats just my experience tho Edited November 12, 2007 by 06BaNsHeE
shanYE west
It would depend on where/what he rides. If its alot of open trails and dunes the CPI would be a great pipe. He didn't say what type of riding he did but the pipes he mentioned are all-around pipes wich leads most people to think He trail rides more then not and would need more bottom/mid power then what a drag pipe offers. I'm not a fan of T-5's. Not because there bad pipes but.. I like to be different. I'd take a set of DMC 916's or PT Hi-revs over the toomey's The Trinity pipe is very nice. has a great fit and finish to it. It has almost identical power delivery as the T5's
richybanshee
I think you should get the TR6 pipes for the stock bike. Toomey says they are 8hp more than the T5's. The thing is that the best performing pipe for a stock bike seems to be the TR6. Also, the pipes look awesome. Properly jetted the pipes should pull better than does DMC's. From what I have heard, the DMC's produce a wide power band, so not much peak HP. In addition, get a K&N filter and if you can, for like $35 you can get the Ricky Stator timing plate and andance it to 4 degrees. Keep in mind that you will also need a flywheel puller and sonmething to hold the flywheel in place when unbolting. This mods will get you a good power boost over stock.
