HRC 450 run in

I just got my shee back togher after a "lean" run, apparently I should label the pre-mix and straight gas cans better for people, and was breaking it in at my buddies place. It is pretty much all straight country dirt roads and I thought it would be a good place to break it in. the first day I put about 5 gallons through it but it is set up pretty rich. The next day some of my buddies showed up and some kid had a 450r that was supposed to be the end all, it had the HRC kit and a pipe and on some Oxygenated gas?

I heard him talikng about how he puts down like 60 at the wheels and this and that, the whole time eyeing the shee. So after a while we were crusing and he pulled up along side me. second through 4th we were dead even, granted he had new holeshots and I had 3 year old stockers on. 5th and 6th would just walk away every time, pretty bad.

After we rode we were talking and I found out he had a taller gear, which I was suprised at. He also claimed to top out at like 105 or so, so he guessed I topped out at like 110 or 115. He refused to belive me that I was lucky to get 90 out of it.

Later on I rode it and all I can say is that it is totally different. The front end wants to come up bad, and it is super squirly in the sand. It is also so loud it left my ears ringing. It also burned about a quart of oil in the weekend.

HRC kit on a new bike, 06 or 07 motor...probably low to mid 40s.

Probably a few ponies on that fuel...if it's tuned right.

Cajun, the 04 and 05 450Rs had a detuned and I believe smaller motor, in 06 they got the real deal dirt bike motor...it was a significant jump!

It takes a LOT of money to get a 450 to 60HP. Can be done...but as always, not nearly as easy as a shee.

That being said...a 60HP 450 is an absolute blast to ride!!!

60 HP on an HRC and oxegenated fuel...

That guys been sniffing too much exhaust...keep dreaming...

That VP U4 is some pretty nasty stuff. Smells caustic.... I've seen dyno results of 6HP increase from fuel change/remap....but that was on a 1000GSXR. So MAYBE a couple here...

You can tell by looking the pipe end...it looks grey and chalky....

But...a 60 HP 450? I wonder how big he thinks 8 inches is...

Pull the pin on that one...another shining example of 4-stroke longevity!!!

I think im pushing over 45hp on my ported shee. I'm not sure on my hp number because it's just a number to me, i play around. And i didnt dump that much money into it. I dont think there's any dynos around my area.

It kinda seems like a lost cause dumping the money it takes to have a HRC and not get that much more hp out of it. dont get me wrong, id love to have a 450 to play on.

The bad part is...though, Rajun, a 40 to 45 HP 450 will beat a 40 to 45 HP banshee....

I'm just saying 45 cuz i know i atleast have that. I think the guy who did mine dynoed a setup like mine around 55-60. I really am not going for hp numbers nor do i care about it. I wanted a strong mind range so i can play around. I got that and a lot more
