Nate-Dogg Posted September 12, 2007 Report Share Posted September 12, 2007 I was wondering if I should put any Lube on the lower rod bearings before I put the cylinders back on. If so What kind of Oil?(2-stroke oil) Sorry if this a silly ?, this is my first 2-storke rebuild and I have always thought the crank was sitting in gear oil(transmission). Thanks for the help! Bansh-eman Posted September 12, 2007 Report Share Posted September 12, 2007 what ever kind of premix your going to run... pour a small amount on both sides and spin the rods a few times to make sure you get it in there... other then that they are ready to go... the first time you fire it up it will smoke pretty bad but once you burn off the extra oil it will clear up.
