(or the carbs) Thanks for helping me Are these stock carbs and do you have the idler screws and the tors removed???? Basicly get teh slides the same height and make sure they go up at the same time when you press on the throttle.

bk_banshee
stock carbs Assuming you have the spin tops and idler screws here is what you do: take all the adustment out of the thumb throttle and unscrew the idle screws out Then on the carb tops use the adjusters and screw them all the way in. Now you have no Tension on the throttle cable or anything holding up the slides. Ideally this is what to do. Unscrew the adjusters on the tops of the carbs untill the slide barely starts to lift on both sides. Now stand back and look to see if the slides are the same height. Which ever side is lower unscrew the adjuste on top of the carb top more. Once even take the slack up at the thumb throttle. Once tight be sure to see if slide move up at same time and rate then start bike and adjust at thumb throttle to make bike idle. DONE If it goes that well then screw in the idle screws part way and use jamb nut to hold them in place. Be sure not to screw them in too far so they interfear with the slide. However if your cable is streached out you may need to use the idle screws to adjust the slide but I would buy a new cable at that point. Bansh-eman
you should really buy a sync tool, there is no way to get it perfectly synced without it... you can get it close but not dead ass on. you can get one from FAST racing for like 50 bucks. wesw
stockers you can get pretty close by lifting the slide till it hits the top of the bore and reach in with a finger and feel. make sure they feel the same amt on both sides. on any thing bigger yeah that tool jeff sells is the only way to go. works good on stockers but you can get them some what close on your own. luv2rideaz
on stock carbs, there is a sight glass on the right side of the carb. at wide open, a BB will appear in the glass, and you can adjust the tops of the carbs to get the BB at the same position. for the bike to idle you need to use the idle screws that were put on after T.O.R.S. was removed. on outter sides of carbs. this is not as precise as the vacume tool, but will get you real close.
