Great for cleaning off plastics that don't have paint. If you have painted plastics dont use it cause it will strip it in a heartbeat.

hehehe also good for mixing with fuel, i mixed it 50/50 with unleaded one time for my pocket rocket... WOW  what a difference it made till it evaporated and i had a very rich oil mix

not too good for the brain cells either

toluene (114 octane) and xylene (117 octane) are the main components in race gas.

Oh come on, they are not the main components in race gas. In fact, they're not even close to being a major component. I think you will find about 4% tolulene in a standard 120 octane unleaded fuel and about 1.7% xylene. These two chemicals also tend to brake down and rearrange hydrocarbon chains to their liking (which is what makes them a good solvent), so it may not be best to be mixing them into your fuel yourself, unless you have a good chemical background and some crude lab equipment at your disposal.

im not entering a pissing match. this is what the label says. i dont give to fucks what he says. I have also used both in the persuit of making race gas during months when it is not sold here.

Take your meds, relax...breathe....

firehead has a lot of experience in fuels we'll never see...supporting race programs for some of the biggest race teams in the biz...

He did say unless you have a chemical background and some lab equip at your disposal...

No need to get in an uproar....

I know he does. I respect that. But the first 2 'ingredients' listed are tolene and xylene giving be the impression they are the 2 major ones. This is 110 Leaded. In the fall-spring seasons, race gas is not sold here, forcing me to make it. it costs twice as much but thats the persuit of going fast. This is in a 2.3 turbo mustang. This summer shortly before i was forced to sell it I converted it to E85 with VERY promising results. I am researching into converting the banshee but need some more reliable conversion formulas to try and figure out jetting.

Ok...fair enough.

Why not go all the way and run the banshee on methanol?

Or...is that not available to you either??

I'm surprised you found good results on E85...everything I've read is it costs more per use than normal gasoline...

Interesting...:)

E85 is not as corrosive and in the mid west is easily obtained. Ive never really looked into methanol or where to get it.

The car was a drag/fun car and with 46lb/hr injectors and 18-22 lbs of boost, MPG was not a major concern, but it did manage about 20mpg on the highway offboost. E85 is becoming the rage because of its 105 octane rating and cooler burning, There are guys running unheard of amounts of initial timing with E85 as opposed to pump gas or even race gas.

so then my supplier is lying to me and the label on the pump is false.

What does your supplier's label say? Or the pump for that matter?

This may come back to the same "only a few folks actually make stuff" thing where someone out there is re-bottling and creatively labeling.
