TeamRealtreeHD
OK guys. I am going out saturday and sunday. I got my bike last week and rode it 2 days, about 1-2 hours on it. I got it from a guy who maintained it very well. Friday night (2 days) I am going to get a case of beer with the guys and we are having a maintenance night for the shees. I already did the plugs, air filter and tightened the chain/lubed it, and wd40'd the kicker. What should I be doing now since I got it from another guy? The bike's engine oil is crystal clear and the coolant is at a good level and color. Anything I should be doing? Maybe drain the gas tank or tranny fluid? ANY advice would be wonderful here guys, you are all great guys and very helpful to me. Thanks, Tony Edited September 6, 2007 by TeamRealtreeHD

Bansh-eman
well you mentioned that the oil is good, there is no engine oil. the oil you see is the tranny oil. do you know what he is running? if not id assume to change it and put something you trust in there. possibly check the clutch adjustment if it needs to be fixed do that. check all your electrical make sure everything is clean. The manual says: Yamalube 4 (of course, LOL) 10w30 or SAE 10w30 API service SE, SF, SG type or higher. Be sure to use motor oils that do not contain anti-friction modifiers, aka shit labled ENERGY CONSERVING. I use maxima MTL and that reminds me I need to change mines. I think you pretty much have all bases covered so I would go out and ride. BTW, thats a nice looking 'shee you have there.
