gosh dang it yesterday, towards the end of riding i was taking the bansee out for one more ride and as soon as i took off i started to hear a real bad grinding noise... im not too sure were it was coming from... my friend had suggested it might be a bearing in the axel, but im not too sure i got stock gearing and running some paddles i dont know if that will give any stress on the axel or tranny. The noise comes when i start going about 4mph or little less if any one could suggest anything

thanks

your friend is probly right. how long has it been since you did anything with the grease on the bike? i dont remember off the top of my head but i want to say the stock swinger does not have a zerk fitting for the axle? but i could be wrong, its been awhile since iv looked at one.. you might need to pop the seal and grease them back up. or might be worth just getting new ones before those get stuck in there...

How do the rear pads look?? Lug nuts tight?? If it isn't any of those, you are goin' in!! Prop up the rear on a milk crate and see if you have a bent axle, tweaked rotor, anything out of the ordinary. That should help you localize the grinding sound...

Other than what's been listed for you to check already, it could also be worn sprockets, and chain. The chain may be jumping teeth on the back sprocket causing the noise. Look at the teeth, and if they are rolled over on the tips, then you need a new chain, and both sprockets. Just something else to check out.

same noise i heard on my raptor, thouht it was the brake grinding on rotor turned out to be the bearings,no fun to get out once it welds everything together.

my vote goes for carrier bearings.

mine made a grinding noise at first, then howling, then came apart and wrecked my carrier and caused the chain to come off and break my case.

do not go for a ride until you check/replace your carrier bearings. from the first squeak i heard, it took maybe half an hour till it came right apart and wrecked everything.
