Picking up my Cheetah Cub tomorrow ?

Ok, I finally decided to go with a Cub kit, 4mill, 35mm Air strykers, Cool Head, In frame CPI's, Pods, etc. I have decided on this set up based on endless nights of research on this site of other members trial and errors. This is my third banshee, but first cub motor, Hope its worth the $$$$.

My question is: Does any one use Yamalube in there big bore or cub motors? Based on search info most people here seem to use Benol techniplate, or castor, motul etc. I was sold on using the benol until my engine builder told me to use Yamalube, and you know how that goes when something goes wrong and you didnt do what they told you.

When I was running gas i used alot of different oils. I really like the castor 927. The only thing I didn't like about it was the color. It wouldn't change the color of the gas and sometimes I would forget if I already mixed it in or not. I also used KLOTZ R50, Technipalte and Benol. I have no problems with any of those oils either. Bel-Ray HIR is a good clean oil. I didn't mind Yamalube2R, I ran it for 2yrs in my banshee @ 32:1. when I bought it brand new. I pulled the cylners off to get them ported and they looked REALLY good.

But it smoked like a bitch and did foul some plugs. For a $1 more a quart I figured a full synthetic would be better.

On my 99 and 02 we run yamalube. The 99 I bought new and it has been bored just once and that was because of a crank seal failure/leak. I rode the piss out of it and now my son does. Its a good product in my book. On my 94 I run motuls for no other reason than the builder recommeded it.

I've been running Yamaha Lube 2R in my cub for a while now... And have ran it in my YZ250's, and CR250's... Plan on running it in my 370R motor too (while it's on gas)! Works great! Don't plan on changing!!!!

With today's products, type of oil usually isn't the problem, lack of it sure can be...

I ran Super M and R50 Klotz in my gas cub, I run Benoil in my alky bike.

Most of the alky guys use Benoil or 927 because it stays mixed longer with alky...

On a side note...in building a cub...make sure you measure the following before you fire the bike.

1. Squish

2. Compression

3. Leak Down...

Thanks for the info. I'm picking my bike up from the builder tomorrow. I decided not to tackle this job myself, I can do alot but never messed with the crank before. This one is being done for me.
