peak-j
He might want to do a plug chop to see where he's at.
RagunCajun
Im ported and i have 330's right now. Pulls like a beast on top but im rich all around. I'm thinking of going down to a 320 main. Every bike is different. People always say do a plug chop to be sure.
dajogejr
I would normally tell you something is wrong...that's HUGE jetting. However, if it has good compression, it passes a leak down test, squish is where it should be....plug chop is next. Question is this... He's got porting, Shearer pipes, and stock carbs? That's like wiping your ass before you shit....it don't make sense....

elwilliams13
I'm at sea level with fresh topend 80 to 90 degrees fmf gold fatties powerore silencer, +4 timing stock carbs with uni pods no other mods whatsoever and when I did my plugchops was nowhere near the 2mm ring until I hit the 390 main and now have A 400 in there and it runs strong. highroller355
lol yup he has stock carbs and thinks he doesnt have to change them. so just trying to get it running the best we can with stock carbs. thanks for everyones input. ( it actually ran better with fmfs rotted and gutted and a proflow set up with like 340's)
slowpokebanshee
that sounds prettty fatt if youask me-understand all bikes are differnt etc. but my theory is no matter what size mains you run, stock carbs only flow so much air.....I have pretty heavy drag porting, +7 timing shaved head k&n pods at sea level 70 degrees, and I have 330 mains, and am gonna go leaner.....remember lean is mean-hopefully I will be able to afford bigger carbs this winter.
