 Another "Which pipe is best" question.

I'm looking to get better performance at Olds this winter and am looking for the best complimenting pipe for the mods i have. I don't mind giving up SOME bottom end, but I don't want an "only Top End" power band. I run K&Ns with Outerwears so I'd like an exhaust that is sock friendly.

So I guess what I'm looking for is a duning friendly semi-drag pipe to run near sea level.

So far, it seems that:

Fattys: A good all around pipe...but I think I need a bit more focus.

T-5s: What needs to be said? What is not to like?

CPI: The ones' I'm leaning toward...but are there clearance and fitting issues with these pipes?

Shearers: An all out top end only pipe with no bottom end.

SSTs: Like my Fattys but with a bit more top end...kinda like T-5s.

I'm not limiting myself to these chambers only so if you have experience with others...let me know!!

The "magic wand" would give the the low end I have with the top end hit I don't have.

Feel free to post pics of what you have/recommend...particularly under the seat shots showing the stinger run.

:thanks: Jay

Ask Vey's (your porter) which pipes they recommend.

Shearer is the best dune/drag pipe for inframe fitment....as far as clearing the air filters go.

CPI is probably the best pipe for your application, but...they fit like shit around the filters.

Trinity makes a damn fine exhaust as well...a notch better than T5s I'd say, but because they're stainless...you're gonna pay for 'em.

I was in the same situation as you a couple of years ago. I had FMF Fattys & ride only sand. I went with Trinity stage 4 pipes (inframe) & have been very happy with the results. You will have to switch to a diff. needle at least I did as they tend to prefer a jjh needle. They are better quality, fit bettter, & won't rust while your down on the beach. They have just one side effect & that's price. They are definately a little more higher end pipe than the FMF's but not to the point to where that's all you have.

I used to use PT Hi-Revs for my duner and I liked them better then my T-5's. No filter problems or burnt legs. I would say for the general duner the T-5/Trinity or PT Hi-Rev and if your looking for a lil more on the drag side probably the CPI's

sorry im off topic, but where can i find the PT hi revs and do they have they same bends like the mids do?

All of the pipes mentioned will fit your performance needs pretty well. If your a stickler for quality as well as performance, then I would look toward the trinity. They have a great fit and finish second to none. Quality comes at a price though.

Jay,

I have T-5's and they are a really good pipe, they fit well, and work like they say they will work. I do think that the CPI is a better performing pipe though that comes at the cost of fit and finish. The reason that I can compare the two is because my best friend has CPI's and I have T-5's and he beats me every time (prior to my port of course) with those CPI's and we had the same mods. ANDDD he is a much newer rider than I am. I was very impressed with the CPI's performance.
