How strict is the decibel limit at St. Joe?

I've been to St. Joe state park (Park Hills, MO) a few times and there were plenty of bikes there with loud out of frame pipes. Now I have some, and wonder if their still as lenient on the limit (86dB)..........no one was under THAT limit at all. I can change back to IFs if I have to. We're going August 18th and 19th.

I'm going up to Bonne Terre again this weekend, I'll try and remember to ask some of the locals at the track about the db limit. A group of them just went last weekend

I'd appreciate it!! Thanks. :thanks: BTW, what times are you running on that track? There were 2 triples (750 cc air cooled 2 stroke engines) that came to my race that only ran in the 4.70s at Bonne Terre (they never made a decent pass at our track due to jetting/ignition or some type of problems). I couldn't believe that they couldn't run faster than that by the looks of both bikes.........they looked mean!

I'm gonna have another race in Kennett in the next couple of months or so; and may try to have races regularly if you wanna come up and race with us.

I ran a 4.41 @73mph but I was running out of gear about 3/4 track. I had it geared for pro wedges and they swell up, which will make your gearing taller on the top end, and didn't think about the fact that paddles don't swell, lol.

I'd love to come up, Kennet is not very far, just over an hour away. I passed by it going to/coming home from Bonne Terre

Let me know when the next race is, I'll bring a couple friends too

Here was my 4.41 pass

did you red light and brake out or am I reading the slip wrong? .349 on a .400 light ,4.22 on a4.40 index

What gearing are you running? You gotta 1-5 override? I barely hit 4th gear with wedges, running 14/42, no override.

Yep, 1-5 override, 14/42 gearing. I cross the line at the top of 5th.

Have you tried shifting quicker? In that video, I hit 4th as I passed the tree. Granted, the tree at Bonne Terre is a little further out than most, but it couldn't have been more than a 100' from the starting line.

Yep, practice is the key. Track conditions and tire pressure also have a big role in it as well. I still have trouble sometimes with it wanting to bog on the high end, I'm always messing with different variables to get it right. It's neverending, lol!

What tire pressure do you normally run?

Around 3 - 3.5 psi in 4-snows (22x11x8) turned backwards, of course.

4 snows have a really soft tread and they tend to fold over, especially when you run low pressure in them. If you could get your hands on some wedges you'd probably pick up a little bit on your runs. But, in the mean time, try running a little more pressure in the tires, maybe between 4-5 psi and see if it helps out. It'll help prevent the tread from folding over.
